Job Description

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: The CIO is responsible for the development, management and implementation of investment and programmatic outreach strategies. This serves to achieve the greatest impact to the medically underserved and all residents of Greater New Orleans. InclusivCare’s CIO serves as the executive leadfor the strategic programs, grant-making, public policy, and government relations. In addition, the position serves on the Executive Leadership Team, serving as a key external representative for the organization.

The CIO will provide direction to community initiatives, including: program design, assisting with resource development, and evaluating and reporting results to the community. The CIO will also be the primary public relations ambassador for community initiatives, building collaborative relationships and positioning the organization as the charity of choice for donors. The CIO will play the primary role in building an inclusive organizational culture ensuring team members thrive and that organizational outcomes are met. The CIO is also a high-profile external role representing the CEO, when necessary, atkey functions, to funders, and the media.

The ideal candidate is a creative collaborator who understands the commitment and values of InclusivCare and has the skills to execute it through community impact strategies, partnerships andcommunity investment. He/she is a cross-functional leader and inclusive manager.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES: CIO is an energetic leader with experience in grantmaking, research and evaluation, strategic planning, advocacy, facilitation and program development. He or she will have strong communication,relationship and network-building skills with a cross-sector of community organizations, funders, and donors. He or she will be motivated by a bold vision and driven by a solid understanding, appreciation,and connection to the community. The candidate must be skilled at adaptive leadership, possess excellent communication skills, and have a focus on impact. He or she will also have experience in organizational operations and planning, strong oral and written communication skills. He or she must have demonstrated ability to relate well to a variety of individuals and groups, including diverse populations, community groups, elected and non-elected policy makers, businesspersons, professional staff, and volunteers.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Direct and indirect supervision of designated professional staff; Outreach Staff; Community Health Workers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Define objectives, frameworks, and metrics for the strategic planning process and establish ownershipand timelines for key planning steps.

  • Work with President and CEO and Management Team to measure and monitor progress against the strategic plan and develop new/revised plans as necessary.

  • Collaborate with CEO and Management Team to devise effective short and long-term strategies and tactics.

  • Identify, Develop, Monitor and evaluate our grantmaking success to address the needs of the community while

    ensuring the greatest return on our donor’s investment.

  • Sets vision and priorities for our community investment and community impact programming.

  • Oversees research and trend analysis to identify and apply real-time market data.

  • Create actionable goals that make it possible to turn the organization’s mission into tangible,

    measurable results.

  • Assess the organization’s many different initiatives and services to ensure there is alignment with strategic

    plan and overall vision/goals.

  • Researching and implementing new strategies and tactics for organizational growth and prosperity./

  • Serve on appropriate committees as assigned by the President & CEO.

  • Build relationships with government, nonprofit, and business stakeholders that enhance the work of InclusivCare’s

    projects and initiatives.

  • Manages partnership to support the services of the region. Convene and facilitate organizations and

    community leaders as needed to support the ongoing work of identifying community needs.

  • Serve on external taskforces, work groups, and committees related to InclusivCare work.

  • Identify partnership opportunities for InclusiveCare and opportunities to collaborate with other

    organizations.

  • Performs other duties as assigned by the President & CEO.

    QUALIFICATIONS: Demonstrated knowledge of scope and role of Community Leadership, Grantwriting, Fundraising; Demonstrates ability to act independently; Demonstrates effective interpersonal skills; Demonstrates a willingness to lead change; Demonstrates good communication skills in a diverse population; Demonstrates leadership ability, as well as ability to assess, problem solve and effectively make decisions; Demonstrates flexibility and manageability of multiple demands;

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Master’s Degree required. Candidate must have at least 15 years’ work experience in non- profit sector.Valid driver’s license and personal vehicle required. Position requires extensive local travel and occasional evening and weekend appointments. Demonstrated comfort, knowledge and understanding of information technology; Comprehension and willingness to take on the role and responsibility of leadership.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents; Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies or members within the business community; Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format; Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups and/or the Board of Directors.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical solutions.

    REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Board certified in specialty, if applicable.
