POSITION DESCRIPTION
Athletx Sports Group has an immediate opening for a Graphic & Creative Designer. We’re looking for an energetic and creative professional to join our team to positively contribute to the fastest growing diamond sports events and media company in the industry. The successful candidate will have experience in both print and electronic media and can take direction through written or verbal ideas and convert them seamlessly into images, layouts and other designs. We work in a fast-paced environment, so the ideal creative designer will be able to hit the ground running. Applicants with sports-related design experience and/or designing in a collaborative environment will be given prime consideration. This position will be located in the Louisville office and will be expected to travel to events, meetings and trade shows across the U.S. throughout the year.
PRIMARY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite- Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
- Ability to effectively use all appropriate tools and layer masks within the suite
- Strong understanding of file requirements for production with raster and vector art
- Ability to shoot and edit videos and photos at events and convert into creative and relevant content for each brand’s needs.
- Create graphics and short videos for social media posts and various email and digital campaigns.
- Ability to work cooperatively as a member of a team as well as independently within the scope of an assignment
- Ability to interact/maintain/create new relationships with printers/vendors
- Utilize a customer-oriented approach, with a positive “can do” attitude
- Maintain daily design log and contribute to team success
- Availability to travel and cover some assigned events and coordinate coverage with existing staff and contractors for other events by identifying and hiring temporary/seasonal staff for strategic event coverage
- Prioritize and assess each brand’s needs, assets and deliverables and maintain a balanced workload to assure high quality deliverables for campaign deadlines
- Ability to work cooperatively as a member of a team as well as independently within the scope of an assignment

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- College or Trade School Graduate (preferred), with a degree or certificate in a graphic design-related field
- Experience in sports-related design is a plus
- 2+ years of related work experience and/or a strong portfolio
- Strong verbal, written, computer, and personal relations skills
- Ability to work an irregular schedule including, evenings, weekends and holidays
Preferred Qualifications:
- Social media and video editing skills
- Knowledge in Salesforce or similar CRM softwares
- Demonstrates passion for baseball and softball and understanding of the games
- Proven measurable success in social media engagement growth in a sports organization
