Job Description
Pipe Yard Worker
Our client, one of the largest line pipe distributors in the United States is looking for a reliable yard worker. Located in Hammond, IN, as a yard worker your primarily responsible for assisting the forklift operator with loading/unloading product onto or from trucks and moving pipe within the yard.
What You Will Do:
- Install strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
- Painting, stenciling, sandblasting, coating pipes.
- Cross-train on alternate assignments and perform duties in other work areas as needed.
- Maintain Housekeeping in assigned work area.
What You Need:
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
- Stable work history, preferably in an industrial environment
- Positive attitude; good team player
- Must be able to lift and stack objects up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions – heat, cold, rain.
