RSCS is a full-service Commercial and Industrial Refrigeration Construction and Service company specializing in the design, installation, and maintenance of industrial ammonia and COâ‚‚ refrigeration systems.

About the Opportunity

RSCS is looking for experienced Pipe Welders to join our Refrigeration Construction team. This is a traveling field position for dependable welders who take pride in quality workmanship, understand mechanical construction environments, and are willing to support refrigeration construction projects in the shop and in the field.

This is not an entry-level position. Qualified candidates must have hands-on pipe welding experience, strong attention to detail, safe work habits, and the ability to work independently while contributing to a professional construction crew.

The successful candidate will perform pipe welding for industrial refrigeration construction projects, including ammonia and COâ‚‚ refrigeration systems. This role requires welding skill, the ability to read drawings, a dependable work ethic, and the flexibility to travel as needed based on project demands.



RequirementsWhat You’ll Do
  • Perform pipe welding for commercial and industrial refrigeration construction projects
  • Complete welding work in both shop and field environments
  • Perform 6G position welding
  • Perform Stick welding using 6010 and 7018 electrodes
  • Perform TIG welding on stainless steel with precision and quality
  • Weld carbon steel and stainless steel piping used in industrial refrigeration systems
  • Work with small bore to large bore pipe sizes
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, drawings, and welding symbols
  • Support pipe fitting, layout, fabrication, and installation work as needed
  • Work safely around refrigeration systems, construction sites, tools, equipment, and materials
  • Ensure welds meet RSCS quality standards, project requirements, and applicable safety expectations
  • Work independently and as part of a crew to complete projects efficiently
  • Communicate clearly with foremen, superintendents, project managers, and team members
  • Maintain a dependable, professional, and safety-minded approach on every job
  • Travel as required, including assignments on short notice
What We’re Looking For

Qualified candidates should have:

  • 3–5 years of experience as a Pipe Welder in industrial refrigeration, mechanical construction, or related pipe welding work
  • Industrial ammonia refrigeration welding experience preferred
  • COâ‚‚ refrigeration system experience preferred
  • Proficiency in 6G position welding
  • Experience with Stick welding, including 6010 and 7018 electrodes
  • TIG welding experience, especially with stainless steel
  • Experience welding carbon steel and stainless steel pipe
  • Ability to work with small bore to large bore pipe sizes
  • Pipe fitting and layout knowledge preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and welding symbols
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Safe work habits and ability to follow jobsite safety expectations
  • Dependable, self-motivated, organized, and able to work with limited supervision
  • Ability to work well with foremen, superintendents, project managers, and field crews

Compensation

This Pipe Welder position pays $25–$40 per hour , depending on verified experience, welding skill level, refrigeration or mechanical construction background, travel requirements, and overall fit for the role.

This is a field welder position on the RSCS construction team. Starting pay will be discussed during the interview process and determined based on the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and ability to meet the needs of the position.
