Job description

The Journeyman Pipefitter is a full-time, on-site role based in Olathe, KS supporting commercial and industrial construction projects across the Kansas City metro area. This position pays $28-$35 per hour based on experience and requires 4+ years of commercial pipefitting work. The Journeyman Pipefitter installs, maintains, and repairs HVAC, hydronic, steam, and compressed air systems while working independently or as part of a project team.

Key Responsibilities - Journeyman Pipefitter

  • Install, assemble, and maintain piping systems including HVAC, hydronic, steam, and compressed air lines per project blueprints and specifications. Ensure all work meets applicable local codes and safety standards.
  • Measure, cut, thread, groove, and fit pipes using hand and power tools including threaders, groovers, and welding equipment. Perform pressure testing and troubleshoot system issues as they arise.

  • Adhere to all OSHA safety requirements, company safety protocols, and site-specific regulations at all times. Identify and communicate any plan conflicts or field conditions that may impact the project schedule.

Qualifications - Journeyman Pipefitter

  • Journeyman Pipefitter certification (UA or state-recognized equivalent) or documented equivalent field experience
  • 4+ years of commercial or industrial pipefitting experience with HVAC, hydronic, steam, or mechanical systems
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret construction drawings, schematics, and project specifications
  • Proficiency with pipefitting tools and equipment including pipe threaders, groovers, pipe wrenches, and welding tools
  • Working knowledge of piping materials including carbon steel, copper, and PVC; valid driver's license preferred

Preferred Qualifications - Commercial Mechanical Pipe Tradesperson

  • Welding certification in TIG, MIG, or stick welding processes is a plus
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred
