Atlantic Pacific Standard (APS) is a growing commercial and government construction company specializing in federal, municipal, industrial, and commercial projects throughout the Southwest. We are seeking experienced Pipe Welders/Pipefitters who take pride in producing high-quality workmanship while maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism.

Position Summary


The Structural Welder/Pipefitter is responsible for the fabrication, installation, modification, and repair of structural steel, piping systems, and mechanical components on commercial, industrial, and government construction projects. This position requires the ability to read blueprints, perform high-quality welds, install piping systems, and work safely in demanding construction environments.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret structural drawings, piping isometrics, shop drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Fabricate, fit, align, and install structural steel and piping systems.
  • Perform SMAW (Stick), GTAW (TIG), FCAW (Flux Core), and GMAW (MIG) welding as required.
  • Assemble, fit, and weld carbon steel, stainless steel, galvanized, copper, and other piping systems.
  • Install supports, hangers, anchors, and structural components.
  • Measure, cut, bevel, thread, groove, and prepare pipe for installation.
  • Perform field fabrication and modifications to structural steel and piping systems.
  • Install valves, pumps, flanges, mechanical equipment, and process piping.
  • Use oxy-fuel cutting equipment, plasma cutters, grinders, and other fabrication tools.
  • Verify dimensions, elevations, alignment, and tolerances.
  • Work closely with project superintendents, foremen, engineers, inspectors, and quality control personnel.
  • Maintain compliance with project specifications, welding procedures, and quality standards.
  • Complete work safely while maintaining clean and organized job sites.
  • Assist with equipment rigging, material handling, and jobsite logistics.
  • Travel to commercial, industrial, municipal, and federal project locations as required.


Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a Pipe Welder, Pipefitter, or Combination Welder/Pipefitter.
  • Experience on commercial, industrial, or government construction projects preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and welding symbols.
  • Experience fitting and welding carbon steel and stainless-steel piping.
  • Knowledge of structural steel fabrication and erection.
  • Ability to safely operate welding and fabrication equipment.
  • Strong understanding of construction safety practices.
  • Ability to lift 75 pounds and perform physically demanding work in various weather conditions.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites throughout Arizona and surrounding states.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
