Company Overview
Baytex Energy Inc. is an independent oil and gas company engaged in the exploration, development, and production of oil, NGLs and natural gas in various domestic onshore regions of Canada and the United States. This position will be in Houston with a primary focus in the Eagle Ford Shale in South Texas.
Position Details
This position will report directly to the Land Administration Manager. Primary responsibility of the position is to establish and maintain lease records information in Enertia Land Records System and ensure that all lease and contract obligations are timely met.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of relevant experience, with bachelor's degree or work equivalent.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite, and willing to learn other computer applications.
- Enertia experience a plus.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills – both written and verbal.
- Ability to prioritize work with minimal direction from supervisor
- Ability to work under deadlines and from time to time on multiple projects.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Analyze and input lease data to ensure completeness, accuracy, and consistency.
- Track incoming leases and ratification's, ensure timely handling.
- Experienced in tracting leases and setting them up in the land system.
- Assist Manager with preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for acreage and financial tracking.
- Prepare full and partial releases, assignments, and Exhibit A's for producing properties.
- Assist with creating and routing of monthly calendars for obligations and expiration's.
- Conduct lease/unit reviews for shut-in wells, minimum royalties, and process payments.
- Communicate with Landmen and Brokers to assist with recordings, bonus payments and other needed items.
- Prepare and maintain physical lease and contract files.
- Communicate and correspond with landowners, working and royalty interest owners.
