Job Title: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
Dept: Housing
Reports to: Lead Housing Coordinator
Location: Los Angeles, CA area (On-site)
Status: Exempt, Full-time
Salary: $72k/year

The Position:

The Licensed Clinical Social Worker possesses and implements the generic knowledge and educational background applicable to working with formerly incarcerated individuals, groups, families, other disciplines and community services within and outside Turning Point Reentry Project (ANWOL). The Social Worker works with all appropriate systems on behalf of the client, and will visit all of the reentry facilities. The Social worker will provide a model of social service delivery that includes counseling and case management services.

Essential Job Duties (other duties may be assigned):

  • Responsible for conducting high quality intake and assessment of incoming residents, and developing a comprehensive strategy that will assist residents in becoming self-sufficient.
  • Deliver and document social work interventions as agreed upon in the residents' care plans including but not limited to arranging necessary resources and services and providing individual as well as group counseling and case management
  • support.
  • Formulates and implements treatment plans for all clients including any case-management services required.
  • Conducts regular therapy sessions with the women residents as indicated by the treatment plan and client needs.
  • Attends all meetings, groups and training sessions as directed by their supervisor and/or directors.
  • Work collaboratively with housing staff and other ANWOL departments responsible for the successful management of residents.
  • Support residents through making referrals to agencies based on the needs of each resident.
  • Monthly review with residents to ensure they are following through with their goals.
  • Empower residents with tools to navigate social services systems.
  • Provide encouragement, support, and motivation to accomplish successful re-entry to reach their goals and milestones.
  • Draft letters to communicate with various government agencies and departments to comply with residents' requirements.
  • Represents the agency in a professional manner in meetings, groups and training sessions.
  • Establish relationships and maintain contact and referral flow with community-based agencies/services.
  • Provides oversight, training, clinical and administrative support, and supervision to social work interns.
  • Provide students motivation, support and encouragement
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with staff.
  • Other duties as designated by the supervisor and/or agency leadership.
  • Comply with agency guidelines, policies and procedures.
  • Comply with applicable professional licensing requirements and ethical standards.

Qualifications Required:

  • To perform this job successfully, the applicant must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required; reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • A Master's degree from an accredited college or university in social work
  • Licensure (i.e.: LCSW) preferred, registered and in good standing with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS).
  • Experience conducting individual and group psychotherapy.
  • Experience with clinical documentation, DSM V diagnoses, assessments, and treatment plans.
  • Knowledge of mental health systems of care and community resources.
  • Ability to hear and verbally communicate with others.
  • Must be able to learn/use necessary computer programs.
  • Must have visual, physical, and technical ability to independently use general office equipment, including copier, scanner and a computer.
  • Three to five years clinical experience preferred.
  • Valid state driver's license and acceptable DMV record required.

Terms of Employment

Candidate must live in the Los Angeles region, and have regular use of a personal vehicle; some travel required.

Compensation and Benefits: Compensation includes medical, dental and vision insurance benefits, life insurance, and 403(b) retirement plan.
