Essential Functions:
- Design and implement comprehensive marketing communication plans for assigned audiences in a precise and effective manner, including but not limited to writing, editing, obtaining approvals, managing creative and leading team members assisting on projects (i.e., advertising, media relations, web and content).
- Lead email marketing content for customers, external stakeholders and consumers.
- Manage and lead website content development.
- Lead creation of sales marketing materials that tie into communications campaigns and business sales goals.
- Develop clear and consistent messaging narratives and supporting materials, drawing on proof points to validate messages.
- Develop specific communications objectives and metrics to measure the effectiveness and impact of communications and external engagement with content and understanding of strategy.
- Independently obtain needed knowledge and skills to keep up with technology and changing roles.
- Present material in writing, graphic presentations and other communications media.
Travel: Must be willing and able to travel, up to approximately 15%.
Location: This in-office (not remote) position is located in Wooster, Ohio.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position may be responsible for the supervision of staff.
EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS:
Education/Experience: Any combination of education and experience that would provide the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:
- Possession of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in communications, marketing or a related field.
- Minimum five years of work experience in progressively responsible communications role, managing communications projects and developing strategies.
- Experience in the food or agriculture business is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Experience with email marketing platforms and CRMs (example: Hubspot, Active Campaign, Infusionsoft).
- Ability to write for print, broadcast, web and social media as needed.
- Comfortable accepting responsibility for medium to large-scale projects involving multiple resources and spanning many months from start to finish.
- Demonstrate proficiency at incorporating social media and other digital platforms into a comprehensive communications strategy.
- Proven track record of successful multi-channel communication campaigns.
- Demonstrate leadership skills with the ability and desire to embrace and emulate a servant leadership approach.
- A spirit of collaboration and a love of engaging in generative thinking.
- Strong presentation and public speaking skills.
- Ability to exercise judgment, initiative and work independently within a team environment.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Detailed organization skills and follow-up.
