Job Description

Overtown Children and Youth Coalition (OCYC) OCYC's mission is to create a collective impact model to build capacity with children, youth, and families of Overtown to reach their full potential. As a backbone organization, Overtown Children and Youth Coalition works diligently with our anchoring nonprofit community partners, using a collective impact approach to serve as a catalyst and to reach the Overtown community.

Position Summary: 

This position serves as the director of the programmatic operation for the Overtown Children and Youth Coalition (OCYC). The primary duties include, but are not limited to, grant compliance, overseeing the bid solicitation process, leading the collective impact model, and being an advocate for the Coalition. The Director of Programs will have a clear understanding of the collective impact module and implement a collective impact approach in the method of how services will be delivered in the Overtown community while aligning with the funding sources. Additionally, the Director of Programs will be equipped with a skill set that will allow them to convene community-based organizations to work together to achieve a common goal.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Directly oversee the programmatic operation of Overtown Children and Youth Coalition; this includes, but is not limited to, the responsibility for planning, implementing, and evaluating the organization’s programs and projects.
  • Directly responsible for ensuring The Overtown Children and Youth Coalition is in compliance with funding according to the awarded grant proposal. 
  • Provide oversight and technical assistance to the programmatic staff to ensure they effectively and efficiently monitor and evaluate their assigned programs.
  • Lead in the development, implementation, and maintenance of a quality assurance plan.
  • Work with staff to ensure program conditions and performance outputs are met and provide guidance in the development of corrective action plans.
  • Develop and implement strategies to assist the Program Managers in holding funded recipients accountable for the grant deliverables.
  • Provide guidance and insight to the collective impact committees.
  • Convene organizations to address the common goals of the collective.
  • Receive and analyze data to provide recommendations for funding sources to pursue.
  • Assist in the development of common performance measures for the collective.
  • Create reporting procedures to ensure funders’ reports are prepared and submitted in a timely manner and maintain a grant document system.
  • Serve on the grant-writing team.
  • Manage the bid solicitation process: Assist with the bid solicitation development activities; review, read, and rate proposals; participate in debriefings; prepare rating documents; make proposal recommendations; and participate in the appeals process.
  • Facilitate grant kickoff and closeout sessions as well as interim-status meetings.
  • Identify professional development opportunities for the OCYC staff and the coalition members.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree with at least seven years of experience in performance-based contract management, stewardship of grants, and data compliance and management.
  • Commitment to quality programs and excellence with demonstrated skills in achieving strategic objectives in a timely fashion.
  • Strong ability to manage relationships and engage a wide range of stakeholders, including advisory groups, coalitions, forums, trade associations, and practitioner groups.
  • Proven ability to de-escalate social, economic, and emotional situations.
  • Demonstrated success advocating and educating for the underserved and the uninformed.
  • Experience working with quantitative and qualitative analysis.
  • Integrity, positive attitude, mission-driven, and self-directed with a demonstrated passion for OCYC’s mission and commitment to working collaboratively with a management team of senior professionals as well as front-line staff.
  • Ability to handle a variety of constituencies, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and thrive in a complex environment with multiple priorities.
  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills.
