Job Description
MBS is hiring a Technical Contract Support in Cincinnati, OH. This position is a full-time, Direct Hire opportunity.
The Set-Up Technician is defined as a support role for qualifying new or repurposed metal cutting equipment under direction of the Manufacturing Engineer assigned to a Project.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned as the application requires and skills permits:
  • An in-depth of CNC G-code programming and troubleshooting (FANUC controls preferred), as well as a working knowledge of PLC and PMC programming.
  • An in-depth knowledge of standard dimensional inspection and gaging equipment. Inspects parts (used and new) to determine dimensional characteristics.
  • An in-depth knowledge of machine capability data (Pp and Ppk) as generated by company’s Quality Lab Technicians, from CMM or manual inspection reports.
  • An in-depth knowledge of workpiece fixturing and work-holding principals.
  • Capable of recognizing design improvements, recommending modifications, or makes special tools and fixturing to meet product specifications or requirements.
  • An in-depth knowledge of coolant, hydraulics and pneumatics systems with the ability to troubleshoot and program.
  • Recognizes, troubleshoots, and directs repairs equipment operating problems with appropriate company team members.
  • Capable of adjusting functional parts of devices, equipment, and control instruments.
  • Capable of working independently to start machines/devices/equipment to test their performance and performs machine adjustments, as well as load/unload production sample parts for qualification.
  • A working knowledge of machine control circuits and understanding of schematics.
  • A working knowledge of electrical/electronic test equipment (e.g. multimeters, ammeters, voltmeters, etc.).
  • Some knowledge of welding and simple fabrication. Welding should include: stick, mig, and tig.
  • Reports daily results to Manufacturing Engineer assigned to the Project.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of company’s employees.
  • Must be able to function in a team environment by working with and cooperating with others.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision for the purpose of troubleshooting and installing electrical wiring; peripheral vision for working in and around moving machinery and parts; close vision for reading blue prints; depth perception; and ability to adjust focus.
