JOB TITLE: Warehouse Supervisor

Objective: Responsible for the safe and efficient transfer, movement and storage products in a packaging distribution facility. Manage Shipping & Receiving, Warehouse, Distribution and Inventory activities. Identify opportunities for and execute process improvements.
Essential Functions
1. Supervise, coordinate and manage all warehouse functions including shipping & receiving, inventory control and scheduling. Insure operations are run smoothly, efficiently, safely and timely
2. Supervise all warehouse personnel including assigning duties, scheduling, setting expectations, providing feedback and holding employees accountable.
3. Set clear performance, safety, attendance and behavior expectations and hold employees accountable through constant, effective feedback. Discipline employees when appropriate, following company policy and practice.
4. Responsible for the recruitment, on-boarding and supervision of all employees
5. Maintain a safe working environment. Insure compliance with all safety & materials handling procedures. Insure work areas are constantly hazard-free. Conduct monthly safety meetings
6. Working directly with District Purchaser, monitor inventory levels. Insure completion of accurate monthly physical inventory.
7. Insure compliance with all policies, rules and regulations, including but not limited to: workplace safety, wage & hour, employment law, discrimination, harassment & retaliation, health and environmental, and all other State, Federal or other legal requirements
8. Perform frequent inspections to insure legal regulations and company standards are consistently maintained
9. Insure timely scheduling of inbound containers
10. Insure proper maintenance of all equipment at all times. Establish and maintain service schedules. Follow appropriate protocol for repair/maintenance purchase orders
11. Insure customers receive courteous and timely service. Keep Sales and Customer Service updated on order status
12. Treat all employees with dignity and respect in a fair and consistent manner.
13. Insure all department records are completed accurately and timely and properly maintained. Including but not limited to: Forklift daily pre-inspection, packing lists, Bills of Lading, inventory documents, inbound inventory signoffs, filled order signoffs, maintenance records, safety investigation and other safety records
14. Requires the ability to occasionally lift, carry, push and pull 30 pounds
15. Requires the ability to continuously sit, stand and walk for a minimum 8-hour shift with occasional overtime.
16. Reliable attendance on-site is required
Other Duties
1. Lead improvement projects to develop and maintain outstanding safety, cleanliness, efficiency and cost effectiveness in the facility. Serve as a resource and leader in the implementation of new programs and procedures
2. Be readily available to the Vice President, Customer Service and other co-workers
3. At all times behave in a professional and courteous manner. Be a role model in the facility
4. Partner with other managers to develop short- and long-term goals for the facility
5. Occasional travel required
6. Requires the ability to rarely lift, carry, push and pull 50 pounds
7. Other duties as assigned
Reporting Relationship
1. Reports to the Vice President
2. Works closely with Sales, Customer Service and Purchasing
Minimum Qualifications
1. Supervisory experience
2. Skilled forklift operator
3. High School diploma or GED
4. Excellent logical decision-making ability
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
6. Ability to partner with and lead employees at all levels of the organization
7. Ability to utilize staff in an effective, efficient way
8. Be flexible responding to changing customer and scheduling needs.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Management experience in Shipping and Receiving
2. AA or BA/BS degree
3. Background in packaging material
4. CPR and First Aid certified
Physical Environment/Working Conditions
This position is in a warehouse, public roads and customer locations. Temperature fluctuations occur throughout the year and employees must be cautious around equipment and forklifts.
