Washington Cities Insurance Authority (WCIA) is a municipal organization of cities, towns and interlocal entities in Washington State that join together for the purpose of providing liability protection to its member entities. WCIA provides members with comprehensive liability coverage (auto, general, police, public officials, and errors & omissions) and property coverage. WCIA also provides risk management services to reduce the amount and frequency of member losses and to decrease the cost incurred by members in the handling and litigation of claims.

WCIA is recruiting qualified applicants to fill one position that will use WCIA's risk management information system (Origami) and our extensive history of claim, underwriting, and membership data for strategic and technical expertise. The position will analyze, collect, and manage data - looking for ways to improve WCIA's and the membership's risk profile. Provides analyses and recommendations to assist with WCIA's property and liability underwriting, improve business operations, and member engagement. Responsibilities include leading initiatives to improve data collection and accuracy, analyzing loss trends for property and casualty lines, conducting benchmarking studies, working with WCIA departments to identify analytics and metrics to track and improve business functions, and analyzing business intelligence tools for relevancy at improving WCIA's overall operations.

Job Location: Hybrid work arrangement, with approximately one to two days per month at our Tukwila, WA office and other days working remotely from your residence within Washington State.

Position Salary Range: $84,623 - $126,935 per year - full salary range.

Hiring Salary Range: $84,623 - $94,188 (Salary offer will depend upon years of experience, education, certifications, and/or licenses)

Minimum Qualifications: A bachelor's degree in business or public administration, risk management, statistics or related field requiring substantial training in statistical analysis or program evaluation. At least two years' experience performing quantitative and qualitative analysis and research preferably working in public entity risk pooling, insurance, or closely related fields. Considerable ability to mine, manipulate, analyze, and communicate research findings through written documents, graphic illustrations, and oral presentations to people with varying backgrounds and familiarity with the material. The hiring level will depend on the applicant's experience and qualifications.

The desirable candidate will possess knowledge of software programs such as Microsoft Suite and/or business intelligence/statistical applications, business principals and practices, statistical analysis, and federal, state, and local laws as applied to risk management. Skills required for the position include problem solving, developing and making presentations, and the ability to build positive working relationship with staff in other departments as well as members. The individual that we are seeking must be customer focused, able to multi-task, and have good time management skills. Moderate day and overnight travel is required based on member needs. Valid Washington State Driver's license and reliable transportation required.
