Technical Services Coordinator

Kent Quality Foods, Inc . a premier manufacturer of specialty meat products is seeking candidates for the position of Technical Services Coordinator at our Hudsonville location.

Required Skills:

• Computer proficiency - Excel, Power Point, Word
• ERP experience (aptitude for business analysis)
• Detail oriented
• Strong communication skills - experience with Microsoft Teams and Outlook
• Well organized, able to work individually and as a collaborative partner

Preferred Knowledge & Experience (training will be provided as necessary to the right candidate):

• Food Safety - GMPs, HACCP training (certification a plus)
• SOP writing and/or document review
• FDA/USDA labeling - requirements and operation of labeling software
• Foodlogiq
• Optimal - formulations
• Business Central

Job Responsibilities:

• Help develop and maintain internal programs including, but not limited to, the following:
  • Product Specification Database (Redzone, Spec. & Nutritional)
  • Manufacturing Instructions
  • Product Evaluation
  • Microbiological Monitoring
  • Modeling for support/determination of product shelf life (Combase)
  • Labeling & Nutritional Development (backup)
  • Product Formulation (Optimal)
  • Change Management Coordinator (Backup)
• Actively engage in the performance and review of the following:
  • Auditing of manufacturing processes
  • Finished product data (product eval program, plant QA data, ops feedback) for opportunities for continuous product quality improvements.
  • Change Management - collaboration with various departments for documenting, testing & implementing changes
• Cross functional knowledge of organization/departments including Ops, scheduling, QA, RD, warehouse/materials/logistics, purchasing, sales, etc.
• SPC knowledge preferred but not required
• Assist with maintenance of systems software and equipment
  • Implementation of specification changes and new products in labeling software
    • Develop ability to troubleshoot and solve issues with formulations in-process
  • Liaise with IT department to maintain and troubleshoot issues with meat analysis equipment (FOSS FoodScan)
• Answer customer or vendor requests for documentation (Letters of Guarantee, Specifications, etc.)
• Other tasks may be added as needed

This position involves assimilation and management of a large amount of information. A quick learner is preferred, as well as someone willing to put in long hours if required to get the job done. A strong work ethic is highly recommended. Quality experience is not necessary as this will be a technical role within the Quality department. Training in Quality concepts and processes will be provided as needed.
