Job Summary:

Reporting to the Maintenance Director, it is the responsibility of the maintenance specialist to ensure indoor and outdoor spaces at YWCA sites are clean and functional, and free of safety hazards. This individual is also responsible for the daily thorough cleaning of the on-site Early Learning Center.

Reports to: Maintenance Team Director

FLSA Category: Non-exempt, Part time, 1 year contract

Responsibilities:

• Full Maintenance of the on-site Early Learning Center.
• Ability to troubleshoot basic plumbing and electrical concerns and address as needed.
• Yard and grounds work as assigned, including mowing, trimming, raking, cleanup, weeding, mulching and pruning.
• Snow removal; including snow blowing, shoveling, and salting, as needed.
• Assist with cleaning and basic janitorial duties when assigned.
• Assist with housing program room turnovers as needed.
• Complete physical labor tasks to carry out the work plan and comply with all safety protocols.
• Provide services to off-site facilities as needed.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings as needed.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School or GED equivalent. Plumbing or Electrical license or 2 years’ experience preferred.
• OSHA Training Certified or willing to become certified.
• Able to demonstrate good judgement when utilizing tools including but not limited to, snow blowers, leaf blowers etc.
• Prior experience utilizing heavy duty floor cleaning equipment, such as carpet extraction and floor buffing.
• Ability to participate in on-call rotation (on-call provides additional pay).

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and 100 pounds assisted.
• Frequent bending, pushing, lifting, twisting, kneeling, squatting, climbing ladders and stairs.
• Manual dexterity, hearing and visual acuity required.
• Noise level may be loud at times.
• Ability to read and follow instructions, while utilizing critical thinking.
