Laboratory Supervisor

Summary:
Responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a research and development (R&D) laboratory, ensuring that all activities are carried out in a safe, efficient, and compliant manner. This includes managing laboratory staff, maintaining equipment, and ensuring that all laboratory procedures and protocols are followed.Responsibilities:
- Supervise laboratory staff, including assigning tasks, setting priorities, and providing guidance and training as needed.
- Ensure that all laboratory activities are carried out in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Maintain laboratory equipment, including calibration, repair, and maintenance.
- Manage laboratory inventory, including ordering supplies, maintaining records, and tracking usage.
- Ensure that laboratory safety protocols are followed, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials, and emergency response procedures.
- Participate in the development and implementation of new research projects, including designing experiments, analyzing data, and preparing reports.
- Collaborate with other departments, including engineering, quality control, and production, to ensure that laboratory results are integrated into the overall product development process.
- Maintain accurate records of laboratory activities, including experimental data, test results, and equipment maintenance.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including identifying opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and quality improvement.
- Stay up to date with the latest developments in the field, including new technologies, techniques, and regulatory requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific or engineering discipline. 3+ years of laboratory experience, including experience in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures and protocols, including safety, quality control, and regulatory requirements.
- Strong Analytic/Troubleshooting Skills.

- Procurement Experience
- Experienced Experience with laboratory equipment, including calibration, repair, and maintenance. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with laboratory staff, other departments, and external partners.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to design and execute experiments, analyze data, and prepare reports.
- Familiarity with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and other laboratory software tools.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations, including Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements.
- The Laboratory Supervisor is a critical role in the R&D laboratory, ensuring that all laboratory activities are carried out in a safe, efficient, and compliant manner.
- The supervisor must have strong knowledge of laboratory procedures and protocols, including safety, quality control, and regulatory requirements.
- The supervisor must also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with laboratory staff, other departments, and external partners.
- Additionally, the supervisor must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to design and execute experiments, analyze data, and prepare reports.
