    • This person handles all things VDI - supporting VDI clusters in NJ and LA
    • Broadcast background would be great
  • Team Size: The manager only has 1 other direct report

Job Description

As a VDI/Infrastructure Engineer, you'll contribute as part of a team who are responsible for the VDI end-user computing environment at the National Football League.
This role will focus on a Teradici VDI infrastructure providing highly available and graphic-intensive edit workstations.

You will be the lead SME responsible for operating and continuously improving the virtual desktop environment, but you will also be involved in many projects that involve various aspects of Infrastructure Technology.?

Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide Tier 3 support (sometimes deskside) in the operation and management of the Virtual Desktops
  • Create and maintain documentation of technical designs, system runbooks, maintenance, and troubleshooting knowledgebase of the virtual desktop infrastructure.
  • Tier 3 technical support (sometimes deskside), requiring advanced knowledge of registry, permissions, drivers, and software.
  • Supporting Adobe Creative Suite applications and their licenses and plugins
  • Monitoring and Analyzing data to ensure the availability and performance of the VDI infrastructure.
  • Packaging and distribution of applications using PDQ Deploy/Inventory
  • Collaborate with the desktop team to implement global Windows 11 VDI templates.
  • Updating and execution of Ansible playbooks to support Leostream/Teradici servers.
  • Continually research, evaluate, and provide documented recommendations for new technologies.
  • Manage and work on continuous improvement of the deployment, testing, maintenance, support, and upgrade processes of hardware and software, including operating systems and software
  • Maintaining a VDI Infrastructure.

Required qualifications/skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience is required.
  • 5+ years of desktop engineering experience.
  • Strong understanding of client system life cycle management
  • Ability to navigate Linux CLI and knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
  • Requires automation and scripting experience; Ansible experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrate ability to work on a diverse scope of projects requiring detailed analysis, and creative/practical problem-solving.
  • Must have the ability to work independently or in a collaborative team environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to provide analysis of existing installations and provide gap assessments.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects within a short development cycle with moderate supervision.
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to evaluate different solutions and provide concise analysis.
  • Should understand current industry trends and their advantages with an ability to provide an integration pathway into an existing environment.
  • Must possess analytical thinking skills and be able to simplify complex problems, processes, or projects.
  • ServiceNow change and incident management experience preferred.
  • Experience with NVIDIA Grid, Leostream, and Teradici is a plus.
