Job Summary:
InterSources Inc is seeking a Sr VMware Horizon engineer to design, implement, and maintain VMware Horizon solutions. The role involves managing the VMware Horizon environment, providing technical expertise, and ensuring compliance with security policies.
Responsibilities:
• Architect, design, and deploy VMware Horizon solutions to meet business requirements.
• Configure and optimize VMware Horizon components, including Connection Servers, Unified Access Gateways, App Volumes, and Dynamic Environment Manager (DEM).
• Integrate VMware Horizon with other enterprise systems, such as Active Directory, storage, and networking.
• Manage and maintain the VMware Horizon environment, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Perform regular updates, patches, and upgrades to VMware Horizon components.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions.
• Serve as the subject matter expert for VMware Horizon and related technologies.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to IT teams on best practices for VDI deployment and management.
• Stay updated on the latest VMware Horizon features, updates, and industry trends.
• Conduct Product and vendor analysis to ensure Chubb's alignment to industry standards and trends.
• Provide Level 2/3 support for complex issues related to VMware Horizon and VDI environments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical challenges and ensure user satisfaction.
• Conduct root cause analysis for recurring issues and implement long-term solutions.
• Create and maintain detailed documentation, including architecture diagrams, configuration guides, and standard operating procedures.
• Ensure the VMware Horizon environment adheres to organizational security policies and compliance requirements.
• Implement security best practices for VDI, including multi-factor authentication and data encryption.
• Analyze and optimize the performance of the VMware Horizon environment to ensure a seamless user experience.
• Conduct capacity planning and scalability assessments to support future growth.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, with at least 3 years of hands-on experience with VMware Horizon.
• Expertise in VMware Horizon components, including Connection Servers, Unified Access Gateways, App Volumes, and Dynamic Environment Manager.
• Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies, including VMware vSphere and ESXi.
• Proficiency in Windows Server, Active Directory, and Group Policy management.
• Experience with networking concepts, including VLANs, firewalls, and load balancers.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Preferred:
• VMware Certified Professional (VCP) certification in Desktop and Mobility or Data Center Virtualization.
• Experience with cloud-based VDI solutions, such as VMware Horizon Cloud on Azure or AWS.
• Familiarity with scripting and automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Python).
• Knowledge of ITIL processes and frameworks.
