Position Summary/Overview:
Key Concepts Knowledgebase, LLC., is seeking a VDI Engineer for a project at a large government support organization. The successful candidate will work with our IT managers, engineers, technicians, and the client to ensure the expectations of both the client and corporate are fulfilled in a timely cost-effective manner.
Position Requirements
The VDI Engineer key requirement/responsibilities are as follows:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Engineering, designing, testing, implementing, maintaining, securing, and managing the full life cycle of the complex VDI solutions deployed in the large Enterprise environment
  • Designing and supporting Microsoft infrastructure solutions, including Azure Virtual Desktop, on-prem, cloud and hybrid
  • Engineering, implementing, mitigating, monitoring, and tuning VDI environment and management software to obtain Authorize to Operate (ATO) for new VDI solutions
  • Managing Azure products (Azure Virtual Desktops)
  • Providing Tier 3 and above support as needed (troubleshooting, problem resolution support, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA))
  • Preparing and maintaining documentation for VDI solutions, processes, and procedures related to engineering projects

Technical Requirements (required and desired - specify):
Required-
  • Hands-on experience with Azure Virtual Desktop
  • Experience with FSLogix, Group Policy, Active Directory, Power Shell and Terraform
  • Experience managing and developing a VDI environment, with preference for AVD, as well as expertise in networking, troubleshooting and QA
  • 3+ years' experience in leading or managing VDI implementations and/ or environments
  • Knowledge of cloud, networking, and enterprise architectures
  • Expertise in the Windows 10/11 - Standard Operating Environment (SOE), imaging, evergreen, etc.
  • Experience with Remote Desktop Service (RDS) on Windows Server 2019/2022
  • Ability to deploy Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) on Windows Server 2019/2022

Desired-
  • NIH experience

Training and Certifications:
  • Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop Certification

Education-
  • Any related field and 3+ years of experience. Years of experience may be substituted for BS degree
