Job Description

Easter Seals Goodwill ND, Inc. (ESGWND) is looking for a Day Support Program Coordinator to join our team in our Mandan office. It is an exciting time as we look to expand our Day Support Services to the Mandan/Bismarck area and we are looking for a motivated person to help get the program off and running!

The Day Support Program Coordinator leads all activities of the Mandan Day Support Program under the direction of the Director of Day and Vocational Services.

The ideal candidate has a combination of leadership skills, knowledge of working with individuals with disabilities, and the ability to conceptualize, develop, and implement creative plans by thinking outside the box.

Some of the Roles and Responsibilities of a Program Coordinator:

 • Prepare and participate in the planning process and the Person-Centered Plans by providing information to the team—either through completing assessment and/or participating in meetings—about what you know to be the dreams and goals, strengths and needs of the people you support.
• Assure that the strategies set forth by family and the team to help persons achieve their goals and realize their personal outcomes, in both formal and informal settings are carried out; and, to assure that Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) document the results so they can be used to determine if people are making progress towards their goals.
• Assure that people can manage their finances, seek out financial assistance, maintain and protect their personal possessions, arrange for transportation and be active in their community and use its resources. • Assure that people can maintain their homes and that the homes comply with health, safety and ESGWND standards. 
• Provide both formal and informal direction and support to DSPs so they can support people to achieve their optimum health. Assure that DSPs are monitoring and documenting health information, so complete and accurate information is available for the medical professional if person is seeking medical attention.
• Assure that DSPs are trained to assist people in administering their medications, and assure that people, their family or DSPs are able to schedule, attend, participate and follow recommendations received at medical appointments. 
 • Interview, hire, and give direction to DSPs to support people. by recruiting, training, and supervising DSPs. 

Qualifications/Basic Position Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in a human service field plus one year of experience in working directly with people with developmental disabilities. Preference will be given to those with a psychology, social work, education or gerontology degree.
• QDDP (Qualified Developmental Disability Professional) certified or willing to obtain.
• Become certified in CPR and First Aid.
• Become certified in Developmental Disabilities according to a prescribed schedule for completion of modules.
• High level of confidentiality.
