Position Summary (major areas of contribution):

The Sprayer/Painter will prepare product for the paint booth, set up paint system and follow instructions on job traveler to create a final product that is the correct color with zero defects to meet the customer’s satisfaction.

Essential Functions / Job Responsibilities:

  • Able to work a minimum of 40 hours per week
  • Able to lift and move up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Perform various tasks related to paint set up and clean up and other duties as assigned
  • Communicate effectively with team, coworkers, management, and office personnel
  • Work independently and in a team environment
  • Meet company-wide continuous improvement and performance goals
  • Perform basic computer skills
  • Read traveler and routing documents to correctly determine color and finish.
  • Read and operate measurement tools
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications / Skills:

Including Formal Training (courses, degrees, and credentials required):

  • Knowledge and skill to set up, operate, and maintain spray equipment.
  • Ability to change paint colors by flushing paint lines with air to prevent mixing or dilution of paint.
  • Utilize manual spray equipment to apply required thickness of paint in an even coat.
  • Assist with parts hanging, unloading, or sanding as required.
  • Carry out instructions of Paint Coordinator and Supervisor.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards to reduce waste and prevent accidents.
  • Work under minimal supervision.

Experience (type and amount of experience required):

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Job-Related Experience not required, but general knowledge of Paint Line preferred

Requirements:

  • General problem-solving and decision-making skills within limits of the positional scope.
  • This position involves a reasonable degree of independent judgment.
  • Ability to stand, walk continuously.
  • Ability to regularly lift, move and carry 10 – 50 pounds.
  • Ability to push, pull, twist, stoop, kneel and reach regularly.
  • The position works within a manufacturing facility which may be loud, dusty, and is not temperature controlled.
