Registered Nurse (RN) PreOp/PACU - Inova Oakville ASC

The new Inova Oakville Ambulatory Surgery Center is currently hiring Full-Time, Part-Time and PRN seasoned PreOp/PACU Registered Nurses to become integral members of our team, delivering unparalleled care to our patients. The ideal candidates will bring recovery nursing expertise in one or more of the following specialties: General surgery, Gynecology, Urology, Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT), Gastrointestinal (GI), and Robotics. ABOUT US:

The Inova Oakville Ambulatory Surgery Center, situated in the Potomac Yards area of Alexandria 400 Fannon St. Alexandria VA, is nearing completion in its construction phase. This cutting-edge facility will be a cornerstone of the newly established Inova medical campus, scheduled for inauguration in mid-2024.

Boasting state-of-the-art infrastructure, the center will feature three (3) Operating Rooms, (3) Procedure/GI Suites, and 12 PreOp/PACU bays, all geared towards delivering top-tier medical services to our community.

WORK SCHEDULE:

• Monday-Friday
• Day shift only, no nights, weekends, call, or holidays
• 5X8 or 4x10 - reporting time 0730
• 5x8 or 4x10 (late shift 1000 - close)

• Care for surgical patients as they recover from anesthesia
• Monitor and chart vital signs, such as heart or respiratory rate, blood pressure, or oxygen level
• Comfort patients as they wake; may be required to gently restrain patients
• Check surgical site for excessive bleeding or swelling
• Educate patients on care for the surgical wound or other post-discharge care.
• Cross-train to work in PreOperative area to meet the needs of the unit

EXPERIENCE YOU'LL NEED:

• One or more years of PACU/Critical Care nursing experience in an ambulatory surgery setting or acute hospital
• Prior PreOp and PostOp experience in a ASC is strongly desired
• Graduate from an accredited nursing institution, BSN preferred
• Current licensure in Virginia as a Registered Nurse
• Current BLS certification
• ACLS/PALS certification preferred within six (6) months of date of hire
