Job Description

Location: Boston, MA, New York, NY , or Washington, DC / Baltimore, MD

Our Lead Full Stack Engineer will own the Volo web & mobile technical stack, and release process for a world class industry changing product. This person will be the experienced, guiding voice and sounding board to the development team that supports the Volo mission.

The Lead Full Stack Engineer will be a highly visible member of a small, dynamic team focused on technical issues including software development, product releases, and engineering tasks.

The role responsibilities will include but will not be limited to:

• Lead architectural best practices, eg shared components, refactoring deprecations, adoption of typescript, containerized development & deployment
• Work with the development teams to define the technical implementation and constraints of task and goals assigned to each sprint
• Distribute, follow up and assist on feature assignments and tasks in progress.
• Collaborate with colleagues to identify and repair technical issues
• Set the direction and be the voice of the development team.
• Make sure the team understands and follows major technical decisions and maintains engineering excellence.
• Organize and manage regular code reviews and release related pull request

Qualifications

EXPECTED SKILL SET + EXPERIENCE

• 3+ years of professional experience at medium / large organization
• BA or BS degree; in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or other technical focus area
• Proficiency in the following is required:
  • React
  • GraphQL
  • MongoDB
  • Node
  • Firebase
  • Heroku
  • Git
  • CircleCI
• Familiarity with the following is a plus: Elixir, AWS, React Native, Asana, Jest
• Effective time manager
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet competing deadlines
• Strong written and oral communication skills with confidence and ability to interact effectively with senior leaders
• Dynamic personality interested in working in, and contributing to, a fun and active office environment
• Ability to teach junior developers industry standard practices and technologies
• Passion for using technology to transform businesses
• Strong knowledge of or interest in learning about the social sports industry
• Strong analytical, quantitative, and technical abilities.
