Skatepark Designer

New Line Skateparks is seeking an individual to fill the role of Skatepark Designer. This individual is responsible for supporting the successful delivery of skatepark design projects reporting to our industry leading, award-winning design team. This includes concept and technical design development and production, collaboration with project and design managers; quality/cost control, client communication (internal and external) and supporting construction implementation.
Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 3-5 years of Skatepark specific design experience or experience working within the Landscape Architecture or Civil Engineering disciplines. Strong technical drafting (2D and 3D), graphic skills, solid communication, and personal organizations skills.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Client Management
- Ensure our clients are being well managed (open, clear and frequent communication)
- Internal: Project managers, other departments, sub-consultants, partners
- External: the actual client, other stakeholders
Design development
- Base data collection, review and base map development
- Graphic preparation and support for public consultation process
- Concept design progression, modeling, and graphic development
- Detailed design, engineering and working drawing development.
- Preparation of technical specifications
Quality and Cost Control
- Efficient time management of projects
- Quantity surveying
- Estimating, pricing support
- Manage projects according to NLS quality control systems (checklist, etc)
- Participate in the ongoing development and continuous improvements of NLS's design processes and systems.
Contractor Administration
- Tender/bid process management
- Manage change orders, RFI's, etc
- Site reviews, progress meetings when necessary
Build Team Support
- Shop Drawings
- Total station data output
- Construction team support as needed
Your Skills and Education:
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Lumion, Adobe Creative Suite, Bluebeam and MS Office Suite. Knowledge of Civil 3D and Land FX is an asset
- Minimum 3-5 years of industry experience (Landscape Architecture or Civil Engineering). Skatepark specific experience desired.
- Industry based degree is preferred (Landscape Architecture, Civil Engineering or similar)
