Tuesday- Friday 10:00-4:00

Every first Friday 3-10 pm

Pay Rate Range: $24-$27

Job Title: Exhibits Coordinator Non-Exempt Status

Reports To: Director of Community Advancement


Job Purpose

To support the community engagement and vocational goals of Able ARTS Work by developing and implementing professional internal/external art exhibition and creative opportunities for Able Arts Work's resident artists and the community through inclusive structures. Seek out opportunities for AAW Artists to show and participate in exhibitions outside of the organization

To support the Communications Department by shaping the branding, marketing, and communications strategy of Able ARTS Work through printed and online material. Creating, collecting, and designing relevant images and captions to post on AAW social media platforms that support the company's mission, vision, and branding message while promoting the client's achievements.


Duties and Responsibilities - Essential Duties


Exhibition Development


Host, curate, prepare, install/de-install (professional standards) all aspects of Able ARTS Work art exhibits through to completion while representing Able ARTS Work and Able ARTS Work artists professionally.


Developing unique concepts for each exhibit, keeping timelines, delegating roles to supporting staff, public speaking, utilizing accessibility presentation tools, communicating with partnering organizations/artists and positively representing Able ARTS Work.


Coordinate creation of print materials, online posting and mailings with office staff


Support other Able ARTS Work exhibition department opportunities as needed; gala, mobile programs, calendar, etc.


Maintain the exhibits office, ensuring that materials are put away and artwork are properly filed, and space is kept clean. Maintain archival of artwork.


Perform all other duties as assigned.


Work with Art Instructors/program staff/students to maintain an ongoing conversation on gallery opportunities/events, and community opportunities. Provide information/feedback on art and expectations for archived work


Networking and Community Engagement


Actively seek out and network with a variety of organizations and people in order to develop in-house and community-based exhibits as well as submit on behalf of Able ARTS Work artists through strong/professional communication.


Develop hands-on participation opportunities for audiences attending exhibitions, department activities, including but not limited to educational tours of current exhibitions, and organize complimentary workshops for inclusive audiences.


Data Management


Maintain necessary grant reporting documentation, including but not limited to marketing materials, attendance, narrative outcomes, artist and curator statements, artist and curator bios.


Maintain all print and image content relative to the exhibitions department accessible and organized for necessary access, maintain and update AAW's digital archive.


Maintain professional grade record keeping of documents. Pricing, archiving Able ARTS Work artist artwork, maintaining artist resumes, photographing work, etc.


Communicating with staff and administration regarding documentation practice to ensure consistent data management of files/artwork


Complete sales and inventory reports


Qualifications


BA in arts education, arts, social work, creative arts therapy, or other related human services

1+yr. experience in working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred

Experienced in the development of multi-media art exhibitions. Basic knowledge of best practices in exhibition development and familiarity with various social media platforms.

Knowledge of Creative Suite, ex: photoshop, InDesign, illustrator, or alternative graphic programs such as Canva

Matting and framing, gallery installation techniques, graphic design, special event planning

Technical knowledge of computer, tablet, telephone, fax machine

Current certifications and license
