Position Title: Member Relationship Supervisor

Department: Manoa Marketplace Branch

FLSA Classification: Exempt

Reports to: Member Relationship Manager

Position Purpose:

Assist the Member Relationship Manager with the overall operations of the branch. Assume responsibility for the branch when the manager is absent. This is a high member contact position that assists members by processing transactions and actively cross-sells credit union products and services. Ensures all operational support functions are accurately performed in accordance with established policies and procedures. This position is responsible for assisting with the direction and administration of the Branch member service, new accounts and lending operations.


Essential Functions:

  • Assist the Branch Manager with the operations of the branch. Schedule staff, answer routine to complex questions on products and services, policies, or rules and regulations.
  • Assist the Branch Manager with branch security at all levels to include open/close of the facility and vault. Ensure that staff receives on-going training on security and robbery procedures.
  • Apply policies and procedures for the branch.
  • Provide back-up assistance in member services. May function as head teller or service representative on an as-needed basis, filling in for peak coverage or shortages.
  • Monitor work of branch staff to ensure highest level of quality service to members.
  • Act as a loan officer with an assigned level of authority.
  • Provide input into performance reviews of branch staff.
  • Assist staff or members in solving complex account problems.
  • Maintain a cross-selling environment within the branch.
  • Hold periodic staff members to discuss areas needing improvement, changes in procedures, new developments, or services, and to present general information. Encourage the exchange of ideas.
  • Manage and recommend the purchase of equipment and supplies.
  • Act as a Branch manager in the absence of that person.
  • Provides training to new and existing department staff, as needed and ensures cross-training of staff.
  • Assists in planning and assigning duties for the department.
  • Performs other duties as required.


Performance Standards:

  • Plans effectively, anticipating issues, taking the initiative to address issues, and developing innovative approaches to resolving issues.
  • Consistently display timeliness in the management of projects
  • Demonstrate professionalism by exercising sound judgment and creativity and by representing the credit union in a positive manner.
  • Be a trusted source of clear and accurate information to the branch staff and members
  • Reports completed as required.
  • Specific goals and objectives for the department are met in a consistent and timely manner.
  • Timely reporting to management.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

High school diploma, GED, college degree or equivalent work experience required.

Required Knowledge:

Must be proficient in MS Office Suite.

Thorough knowledge of member services and products

Knowledge of credit union loan services, policies, and procedures.

Understanding of lending standards and documentation

Knowledge of consumer lending practices.

Experience Required:

Five to six years prior experience in supervising full-service branch operations.

Credit union industry experience a plus.

Skills/Abilities:

Activities and Requirements of this Position:

Repetitive Motion:

Movements frequently and regularly required using wrists, hands, and/or fingers.

Communication Skills:

Must frequently convey detailed or important instructions of ideas accurately and quickly.

Visual Abilities:

Average visual acuity necessary to read, prepare and inspect documents or products.

Hearing:

Able to hear average or normal conversations and receive information.

Physical Strength:

Sedentary work (sitting most of the time). Able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.

Reasoning Ability:

Able to apply common sense understanding to carry-out detailed instructions and to deal with

problems involving variables.

Mathematics Ability:

Able to perform basic math skills including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing using a

calculator.

Language Ability:

Able to write complex sentences using normal word order with present and past tenses, as well as

a command of the English vocabulary.

Working Conditions:

Air-conditioned, smoke-free office setting.

Monday through Saturday. Business hours are subject to change. Must be able to work additional hours, weekends, and holidays as needed.
