Machine Operator 4 -Bistro 2nd Shift

Position Summary: This Machine Operator 3 is a key role within production and ensures the safe and proper workflow of the StanTech Packaging Machine. The Machine Operator 3 will specifically involve working with the servo motors, HMI screens, automatic changeover process, robotic arms, loading cardboard boxes, and troubleshooting/clearing jams. What you will Do: * Ensure compliance with and maintain all GMP/PPE/Safety, SQF, HACCP & Sanitation guidelines and processes * Conduct pre-shift and post-shift inspections and perform preventative maintenance of the equipment when applicable * Load bundles magazine into process line * Identify the appropriate box dimensions for product and order specifications * Conduct quality inspections, visual checks of defects, FO's, size, color, quality, etc. * Ensure machine is processing adequate amount of boxes and bags per minute * Execute start up procedures on Main Screen and follow commands on all other screens to ensure proper machine workflow at all times * Maintain an uninterrupted flow of product by identifying production needs and access priorities as well as managing change overs and clean breaks to minimize any downtime. * Communicate (verbally & in writing) to complete downtime reporting and hourly production rates. * Understands yield standards * Works safely around moving equipment & conveyors * Complete the daily schedule * Maintain Production efficiency * Follow and enforce the 5S Methodology including maintaining tools and equipment as defined by the 5S marking * Conduct autonomous maintenance (AM) activities including: Four Equipment skills for operators: * Ability to detect abnormalities * Ability to correct abnormalities and restore functioning * Ability to set optimum equipment conditions * Ability to maintain optimal equipment conditions * Able to understand and explain to associates the definition of the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) * Perform equipment adjustments, equipment center lining, and pre-flight start up inspection including cleaning condensation * Perform other duties as assigned What you will Need: * Ability to read, write and speak English * Comprehension of basic math * Technically proficient * Mechanically inclined * Willingness and flexibility to work in a cold, wet, fast-paced, 24 hour plant environment * Ability to work independently and in a team environment * Ability to multi-task * Ability to lead/direct workflow * Ability to understand plant KPI's (production, quality & safety) * GED/High School Diploma Related Success Metrics: * Performance efficiency, rework, OEE, Product Specification compliance * Foreign Objects, KPI, Quality Response, Consumer Complaints * Fill Rate, Labor & Yield Efficiencies Desired Traits: * Excellence- ability to deliver consistent quality results through sense of urgency and taking initiative, while also demonstrating flexibility to meet business needs. * People-minded- ability to foster mutual respect and positive relationships with co-workers, demonstrates listening skills and ensures physical safety of self and others. * Integrity- honors commitments, acts honestly and with accountability. * Fairness- ensures objectivity and sets a good example for others. Physical Work Environment / Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the associate will be required to perform repetitive movements (i.e., loading bundles into the process line). The associate regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to extreme cold.
