MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create and Maintain event-driven Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) based on Ship Work Breakdown Structure (SWBS) and associated milestones used for planning and tracking of program activities based on contractual and company requirements.
- Contribute to bid and proposal responses with updates to the IMS to understand schedule and cost impacts.
- Identify variables and risks to ensure proper mitigation for on time delivery.
- Gather, analyze information, update IMS, and prepare progress/performance metrics to Program Manager along with recommendations for corrective actions to bring cost and schedule in line from any deviations.
- Assist with capacity planning to define resource needs to meet the schedule demand.
- Partner with IPT to flow down schedule/staffing requirements in formats that are useful for the leads to easily utilize in their day-to-day execution of planned work.
- Responsible for directing the work for the Schedulers as a team oriented effort to accomplish objectives.
- Implements and enforces systems, policies, and procedures.
- Contribute to Continuous Improvement (CI) by creating work instructions, best practices, tools, and manage small projects for the Program Management Office to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
- Ability to work with the Program/Engineering/Production/Accounting team to incorporate all aspects of the program effort into the fully burdened P6 Schedule
QUALIFICATIONS & ATTRIBUTES
- Minimum of 5 Years Experience with Primavera P6
- Development and Operations of the Schedule for shipbuilding program/project
- Leadership and team management skills
- Ability to work within tight timelines and multi-task various activities in an organized manner
- Set goals and measure performance outcomes of the team
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and critical thinking skills
- DOD or DHS scheduling experience within a ship manufacturing environment
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment where exposure to moving mechanical parts, sharp cutting tools, dust, fumes and airborne particles, temperature extremes and elevated noise level.
- Employees must regularly lift and or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and or move more than 75 pounds.
- While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to strand, stoop, kneel, climb, crouch, talk and hear.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to eye safety glasses, hearing protection and work boots.

RELATIONSHIPS
This position is based in New Orleans, LA and will report to the Program Manager. Birdon’s senior management team, including Divisional Managers, may provide additional direction and duties from time to time.
Clear communication and interpersonal skills are necessary as direct contact with Birdon clients, prospective clients, and production team is an important aspect of this position. It is your responsibility to ensure that the Company’s values and interests are maintained during all internal and external communications.
