About Pike CAC Community Empowerment…
The Community Empowerment Department at Pike CAC seeks to maximize the
client experience by providing individuals and families access to the full range
of available health, social, and economic services at the organization and in the
community through comprehensive case management. We partner with CAC
departments, external agencies, healthcare providers, and other businesses in
the area to create linkages that empower individuals and families to achieve
self-sustainability and their highest level of achievement.


Position Impact and Purpose…
The Community Empowerment Clerk at Pike CAC will work closely with the
Community Empowerment Director and department staff to provide
administrative support. They will work with the director and department staff to
form and strengthen internal and external relationships that will benefit the
clients we serve.

Essential Functions…Functional Area: Clerical Management Estimated Effort: 80 %


Responsibilities, Deliverables, Outcomes and Expectations


 * Create documents, maintain databases, and send letters, memos, and emails.
 * Answer incoming calls and provide knowledgeable and informed responses, as well as route calls to appropriate
individuals as needed.
 * Obtain quotes for services and/or products as assigned and complete purchase orders for director’s approval and
signature.
 * Monitor department supply inventory and complete ordering as directed.
 * Maintain a courteous and professional demeanor with customers, staff, funders, community partners while promoting a
positive reflection of CAC and the Community Empowerment Department.
 * Take notes during meetings and prepare minutes, and prepare agendas.
 * Schedule meetings including logistical arrangements such as space reservation, issuing invitation, completing
reservations.
 * Maintain required records and handle confidential information in a professional manner.
 * Operate office machinery, including photocopiers, scanners, telephone and voicemail systems, and computers.

 * Aids the Community Empowerment Director with daily duties and/or special projects.
 * Attends meetings, conferences, and training related to the duties of this position, and disseminate information to
appropriate individuals.


Functional Area: Agency Service and Other Responsibilities Estimated Effort: 20 %

* CAC Committee assignments, and other agency service duties as assigned.
 * Liaison between Community Empowerment Department staff and CAC programs/Community Partners and Providers
 * Other tasks and duties as assigned by supervisor.

Minimum Requirements…Education: High School Diploma or equivalent


Job-Related Experience: Valid Ohio Driver’s License, clean driving record, insurable under agency policy.
One (1) year clerical work experience, including proficiency with Microsoft Office
and use of office equipment.


People Management Experience: Friendly, professional and courteous demeanor.
Strong communication skills; ability to interact productively with senior staff, CAC
department staff, community partners, and clients.


Licenses, Certifications, and Accreditations: No specific licenses, certifications, or accreditations are required for this position.
Preferred Qualifications…
 Associates Degree or Occupational/Technical School/Training in office management or related area.
 Preference given to individuals with experience serving a non-profit or healthcare entity.


Working Conditions…
Position is in a well-lighted office environment. This position may require occasional evening and weekend travel. Work is fast
paced and involves multiple, sometimes competing priorities, and the management of multiple tasks, responsibilities, and details.
Can involve, at times, moderate-to-high levels of stress.
