As a Senior Accountant supporting efforts for ACCEL Schools, you will support the following areas:

• Support all general ledger tasks including monthly close and journal entries for multiple legal entities
• Perform monthly reconciliations for multiple legal entities of sub ledgers/calculated schedules against general ledger and assess for reasonableness of ending balances
• Lead revenue and deferred revenue reconciliations and analysis
• Assist with preparation of financial statements
• Perform variance analyses for financial statements and explain fluctuations from month to month, year over year, and against plan
• Prepare intercompany reconciliations
• Identify possible efficiencies in existing processes and propose solutions
• Participation in implementing process improvements
• Support various Accounting projects
• Assist with Accounting onboarding of new acquisitions
• Assist with training junior staff
• Supervise two direct reports
• Ability to analyze and validate financial statements
• Other duties as assigned

 ABOUT YOU

• 5-7 years of accounting experience. Public accounting experience or corporate accounting experience in a large company strongly preferred
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance or related field
• Experience with managing month end close process
• Managing journal entry process
• Experience with Balance sheet and Profit Loss analysis
• CPA or CPA candidate preferred
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP
• Knowledge of and proficiency in an ERP system
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills – ability to communicate with all levels
• Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to build relationships with all levels
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to perform highly detailed work under tight deadlines and handle competing priorities
• Demonstrated history of problem solving
• Superb ability to identify, analyze, and resolve accounting and system issues
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
