Job Summary


The primary responsibility of the Project Accountant role is to support the finance and operating teams by maintaining accurate job costing records. This includes preparing and/or reviewing project costs, timecard allocations, project billing, budget to actual analysis, project margin analysis, general project record maintenance, and/or assisting in the preparation of other financial reports and analyses. This position works closely with operations and senior management to support the achievement of overall objectives and may be requested to perform day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping responsibilities. This position will oversee the finances of high-value contracts and clients that may require reporting and maintenance beyond standard contract reporting. A successful candidate must possess and apply a working knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and GAAP.


Major Responsibilities and Essential Functions

  • Reviews projects and production orders for accuracy and executes closing process
  • Reconciles project costs and revenues to the general ledger
  • Analyzes cost rates and prepares cost allocation reports
  • Prepares and/or assists with financial statements, job margin analysis, KPI reports, and various ad hoc reports on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis
  • Perform accounting tasks of varying degrees in accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general accounting which requires knowledge of accounting policies, procedures, and systems within ICC Group
  • Assemble documents for computer input, verifying the accuracy of itemized charges, account numbers, incomes, and expenses
  • Prepares and distributes project close-out and budget to actual reports
  • Oversee contract invoicing and collections
  • Develop and maintain client-requested reports on specific projects
  • Complete special projects as directed by manager or senior management
  • Assist with year-end audit
  • All other duties as assigned
Requirements:


Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree with minimum of 3 years of cost accounting, or job-relevant experience
  • Knowledge of GAAP and current tax code
  • Manufacturing and/or engineering-related experience
  • Knowledge of accounting or database software, including Ajera and SAP (B1)
  • Ability to interpret and critically evaluate financial reporting data for accuracy
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail and accuracy
  • High level of conscientiousness and problem-solving
  • Ability to work alone and collaborate with groups
  • High Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Adobe Products
  • Excellent verbal and written communication

Working Conditions

This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment including but not limited to computers, office copiers, printers, and phone systems.

This role requires the employee to occasionally stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move office products, supplies, and electrical equipment up to 40 pounds.
