Photo-Sonics, Inc. is an international leader in state-of-the art optical tracking systems in Chatsworth and has an immediate opening for a Electrical Motor Winder/Tracking Mount Assembler. We’re seeking a multi-disciplinary candidate who is self-motivated and is able to set and meet goals.
Skills required for this position:
• Ability to assemble parts from subcomponents for motors following drawings, work instructions and in-process inspection requirements. -Perform a wide range of tasks to assemble a stator winding. Tasks include, but not limited to: operation of equipment to make subcomponents (winder, press, cleat), cut and wind wire, insulate, impregnation (chamber) buff, paint and test the parts. -Interpreting part drawings, allowing for improvement discussions with technical support groups (i.e. Process Engineering, Quality, Design Engineering). -Participates with teams to solve department area problems. -
• Understanding of electrical theory, and strong mechanical aptitude/skills.
• Position and fasten units to assemblies and subassemblies.
• Position and align parts, using fixtures, jigs and templates.
• Connect and install electrical wiring and harnesses.
• Measure dimensions/clearance of parts to determine tolerances using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and veneers.
• Test for mechanical reliability.
• Inspect, test, and adjust completed unit to ensure that unit meets specifications, tolerances and customer order requirements.
• Proficient in the use of precision measuring devices, such as micrometers and calipers etc.
• Significant mechanical knowledge and/or experience
• Highly motivated self-performer with good organizational skills and attention to detail
• Strong attention to detail, organized and computer literate
- Basic Math skills. Algebra a plus
- Maintains established standards of quality, productivity and attendance.
- Displays good judgement
Requirements:
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience specifically in winding AC and DC Motors and generators or coils
• Qualified applicant must possess a min. of 8 years related mechanical assembly experience.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent/ related training
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Position requires high degree of electro-mechanical skills and strong analytic ability
• Experience with all mechanical hand tools.
• Requires the ability to read and interpret blue prints & complex assembly drawings, schematics, diagrams and instructions.
• Lathe, mill, and drill press experience desired
• Knowledge of AS9100 procedures a plus.
• Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time in performance of duties.
• Excellent close vision (natural or corrected), fine motor skills/manual dexterity is required.
• Good eye/hand coordination.
• Understanding of electrical theory, and strong mechanical aptitude/skills.
• Proficient in the use of precision measuring devices, such as micrometers and calipers etc.
• Able to wear necessary protective equipment.
• Must be flexible to work overtime and travel when needed.
• Physical Requirements of this position requires ability to walk, sit, climb, talk, see and hear, stand, use hands, reach, pull heavy cables, heavy lifting up to 50 lbs
