Sr. Mfg Engineer Technician

Location: Milpitas

Pay: $30-$36/hr

Job Type: Up to a 2-year contract with potential for conversion to Full-Time

You will be responsible for conducting maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, calibration, and repair activities on a diverse range of circuits, components, analytical equipment, and instrumentation utilized in laboratory and manufacturing settings. This role involves specifying and procuring components, assisting Engineers with protocol execution and documentation, analyzing results, and potentially developing test specifications and electrical schematics. The incumbent will also be accountable for maintaining logs and necessary documentation, and may be involved in preparing technical reports with problem-solving recommendations.

Responsibilities:

• Perform and manage preventive service and repair activities on equipment, small machinery, and manufacturing process tools.
• Conduct and manage equipment, machinery, and process tooling calibration.
• Independently complete or create protocol documentation with minimal assistance.
• Assemble prototype devices, test equipment, and tooling based on verbal and/or written specifications.
• Execute projects in alignment with corporate objectives.
• Support prototype and pilot production of new products, product modifications, and enhancements in collaboration with Manufacturing and Quality Control departments.
• Utilize electrical and other hand tools located in the Tool Room proficiently.
• Machine and/or rework components used in product builds, striving to minimize scrap.
• Proactively communicate process issues to management.
• Perform Equipment Installation Qualification (IQ) testing as per verbal and/or written specifications.
• Aid engineers in product qualification testing according to verbal and/or written instructions.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current process methods, documentation, and procedures.
• Uphold company goals, policies, procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and FDA regulations.
• Fulfill other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
• Tackle complex assignments requiring considerable judgment and initiative in problem-solving and decision-making.
• Proficiency in drafting, with preference for Solidworks experience.
• Possess strong organizational skills and familiarity with Excel-based programs.
• Offer input to design changes of test methods on new/existing technologies and may provide guidance to other non-exempt personnel.

Education:

• High school diploma, AA degree, or equivalent experience required.
• Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Engineering preferred.

Experience:

• Minimum of 6 years of technician experience, with preference for the medical device industry background.
• Experience with basic machine shop equipment is advantageous.
