Construction Fitter/Welder

Job Description

The Construction Fitter/Welder will receive orders from the Construction Supervisor and is responsible for the output of assembling constructional components to complete spiral frames by using several welding and fabrication techniques. Switching techniques is a regular practice and flexibility is required.

Key Tasks

- Reading basic and complex technical drawings, work instructions, and technical specifications

- Using general measuring devices and fabricating tools to manufacture spiral frames and attaching components

- Comprehend all essential elements of the technical specifications and how it applies to the construction process

- Building spiral frames and attaching parts by using welding and constructional techniques for SV, SVN, SVX, SVM, and SVO models

- Ensure machines are produced efficiently at a high level of quality and ready for the next phase of production

- Competent in the inspection process of windings, return channels, lower ends, and final process for all SV, SVN, SVX, SVM, and SVO models

- Participate in the training and mentoring of new employees

- Actively participate in the continual improvement of products and processes

Responsibilities Outside Key Tasks

- Required to meet quality standards set by the organization

- Produce an acceptable quantity in terms of meeting individual efficiency requirements

- Adhere to all safety and environmental policies and procedures

- Maintain a clean work area

- Perform maintenance on equipment as needed

- Communicate with supervision and co-workers in a professional manor

Experience Requirements/Competencies

- Certificate of training or previous welding/fabrication experience-MIG/TIG

- Knowledge of plasma cutter, measuring devices, and hand tools used in fabrication

- Knowledge of contemporary productivity techniques

- Previous forklift experience or certification

- Previous crane experience or certification

Construction Days:

5:00 am Start Time

8:00 am – 15 min break

11:30 pm -11:50 pm – lunch

2:00 pm – 10 min OT break

3:35 pm – End Day

Construction nights: 

6:15pm start time

8:00pm – 15 min break

11:00pm – 11:30pm Lunch

2:00am – OT Break

5:00am – End Day
