Job Description

Summary:

Manufacturing employees are expected to perform activities required to manufacture commercial Aluminum Composite Material (ACM) wall panel systems and architectural metal sheets suited for roofing & roofing edge systems.

These tasks include but are not limited to the operation of Metal Forming Finishing Equipment and Cold Press Laminating Systems:

Cut-to-Length (CTL) Lines

Double-Bending Equipment

Roof & Wall Panel Multi-Profile Machinery

Adhesive Spreaders & Roll Coating Systems

Air Pod Presses for Stack Laminating

Double-Edge Tenoner (DET)

All work must be performed safely, efficiently, and within established quality and procedural standards. In addition to daily production duties, participation in continuous improvement activities is expected. Teammates will be asked to move around to various work areas.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management deems necessary. Candidates must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential duty listed, with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Observe plant safety requirements and advise management on safety concerns. Promote safe working conditions throughout the facility. Always maintain a neat and orderly work area (5S).
  • Read and understand production schedules and work orders. Update production control system as work orders are completed. Communicate with other areas on changes to scheduling and processing.
  • Setup, operate, and monitor equipment & processes to the necessary production specifications and ensure quality requirements are achieved. Perform machine & process adjustments to ensure stable & efficient running conditions.
  • Report machine malfunctions and assist maintenance with routine and non-routine repairs (TPM).
  • Work towards daily continuous improvement initiatives (P-D-C-A). Minimize scrap and assist Team members in the efficient utilization of scrap remnants.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:

The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required to satisfactorily perform the essential functions of this position.

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Flexible Team player, great work ethic, and excellent attendance record.
  • Intermediate level math (ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide to the thousandth of an inch 0.001”); mechanical aptitude; and basic computer entry & retrieval skills in shop floor (ERP) system.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow processes and procedures. Plan and prioritize workload.
  • Communicate with management and co-workers in an effective manner.
  • A resourceful problem-solver who works well independently and collaboratively within a Team.
  • Forklift License - Preferred.
  • 1 – 3 years’ experience working in an industrial Metal Forming manufacturing environment - Preferred.
  • Experience using a Human-Machine Interface (HMI) to run equipment and control processes - Preferred.

Physical Demands:

This position requires the individual to actively move around the plant, however primary tasks are done in a standing position for extended periods. Weights of up to 50-lbs must be manually lifted, pushed, or pulled regularly and repetitively. Team lifts of 60-100 lbs. regularly, on many job tasks. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

Work Environment:

Duties will involve frequent movement between the plant office, Shipping & Receiving dock, and the manufacturing floor. The individual will experience moderate factory noise and may occasionally work outdoors during loading processes. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be provided.
