Senior Accountant

POSITION OVERVIEW: We have a great opportunity to join our Corporate Finance Team as a Senior Accountant. This position is responsible for the balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, month-end close tasks, and reporting. Strong understanding of the general ledger including the flow of transactions and the effects on the general ledger and department budgets. Other accounting duties may be assigned to support the Controller. This position works out of our Midland, Georgia office. Some travel to other plants and facilities may be required. This is an onsite position that includes some travel one week a month within the state.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist with timely month-end close
• Preparation of journal entries
• Review of financial statements for accuracy
• Balance sheet reconciliations
• Backup to critical accounting processes/ functions including billing and AP processing
• Assist with special projects, reporting and analysis as needed.
• Assess internal controls, identify gaps, and help streamline/ standardize processes
• Assist with documentation of accounting procedures
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• At least 5 years of general ledger experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or concentration preferred
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and NetSuite ERP experience strongly preferred
• Excellent time management and organizational skills coupled with ability to monitor own work to ensure accuracy and quality
• Highly analytical and creative in thought processes
