Pisa Pizza in Countryside, IL is looking for one line cook to terrific team building delicious think crust, chicago style pizza. We are located on 5440 S La Grange Rd. Our ideal candidate is attentive, punctual, and reliable.
Role: Line Cook I Job Purpose: Provide exceptional guest service by properly preparing food items, consistently use recipes and prepare food to provided standards
Responsibilities
- Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies
- Chop vegetables, prepare sauces and other food preparation.
- Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
- Clean up station and take care of leftover food
- Stock inventory
Skills/Qualifications: Prior restaurant experience, holds all necessary sanitation certifications, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, interpersonal skills
- Cooking experience or Back of the House experience preferred
- Able to meet all scheduling commitments
- Able to anticipate needs of others in the kitchen and proactively work to meet those needs
- Strong attention to detail
Hospitality – Uphold the highest standards of hospitality while always working to exceed guest expectations Display a sense of urgency in the production of food items to maintain the proper flow of service Responsible for meeting strict adherence to guest allergy requests
Physical Requirements: Lift and move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds Safely and effectively use all necessary tools, equipment, and cleaning chemicals Stand and walk for an entire shift, including moving safely through all areas of the restaurant, which may include stairs, uneven and slick surfaces Ability to bear exposure to hot and cold environments Please note:
Service – Accountable for production of food items while maintaining all safety and sanitation standards Safely operate and maintain all kitchen equipment Display a basic knowledge of cooking techniques and knife skills Responsible for properly prepping, stocking, and maintaining assigned stations while upholding proper sanitation standards Communicate any low or 86’d items to management in a timely manner to ensure the proper flow of service Uphold all standards of quality in food production for prep and service by following standardized recipes Ensure proper sanitation standards are upheld by maintaining a clean and organized workstation, following proper FIFO procedures, and maintaining good personal hygiene Responsible for completing all opening, mid-shift, and closing procedures in a timely manner
Collaboration – Act as a partner in daily operations with the whole Pisa team in exceeding guest expectations Maintain open lines of communication with managers regarding ordering, repair and maintenance needs, and safety issues Assist team members in food production, cleaning, and organization, as needed Follow directions of ownership. Display the ability to constructively receive on-the-job coaching Be a proactive problem solver by thoughtfully identifying issues and communicating them to a manager
