Laboratory Technician

Nuquatic, LLC is a technology company engaged in commercializing a “First of its Kind” water treatment process that removes nutrients from fresh and saltwater sources contaminated with urban, agricultural or industrial run-off. We are looking to add a Weekend/Night shift Pilot Plant Operator/Technician to our Lakeland location. The ideal candidate will possess experience in water treatment operations, analytical water testing or a similar environment and a willingness to learn. Daily task assignments will change frequently and being flexible and willing to adapt is a must. A highly organized and self-motivated individual is the desired candidate. They must be able to assess their workload and adjust as needed to keep the workflow on schedule. This role is responsible for preparing and analyzing samples, creating reports, and maintaining data base records.

Essential Functions

• Prepare various samples for analyses with strict adherence to SOPs.
• Set up, maintain and operate various types of laboratory equipment and instruments.
• Perform calculations, review data for accuracy, prepare reports, maintain database records.
• Maintain lab equipment and supplies.
• Potential travel and assist at field locations as necessary.
• Follow required Operations, Laboratory protocols and safety procedures.
• Demonstrate desire to learn new techniques and better understand and assess techniques currently used.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
  
  

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or related discipline preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of related Laboratory experience is required.
• Effective communication skills are required.
• Entry level experience with water sample testing preferred.
• Microbiological work or educational experience related to wastewater treatment is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Strong working knowledge of current analytical techniques in the water treatment field
• Solid laboratory bench top skills including but not limited to titrations, dilutions, making stock solutions, calculating molarity, ppm, and percentage concentrations.
• Use of spectrophotometers, pH meters, conductivity meter, DO meters, ORP meters, and turbidity meters.

Salary is negotiable and dependent upon relevant experience.
