Software Engineer: Systems Design and Development - Senior - VG37146

TLA is seeking a Software Engineer to join our team, where you'll translate customer requirements into detailed designs. Utilize your expertise in SOLR, Elastic, Postgres, Java, and Scala to develop applications. Troubleshoot web protocols and technologies like Tomcat and Node.js. Conduct testing using JUnit, Jasmine, Jest, or Karma. Experience with DevOps tools like Git and Jenkins is essential. Familiarity with Agile methodology and Sponsor-specific applications is highly desired. Rotating pager duty required.

Requirements

• Developing detailed designs and associated deliverables.
• Translating customer and system requirements into design.
• Designing system interfaces.
• Developing applications using technologies such as SOLR, Elastic, Postgres, Java, Scala, RDS, or Spring Boot.
• Working with relational and non-relational database systems such as Amazon RDS, DynamoDB, and Postgres.
• Troubleshooting Internet and Web-related protocols and technologies such as Tomcat, Nodejs, Web Services, or SSL.
• Developing JUnit and Jasmine tests.
• Using testing platforms such as Jest or Karma.
• Working with DevOps tools such as Git, Jenkins, or Nexus.

The following skills and demonstrated experiences are highly desired:

• Recent experience with the Sponsor’s Lean Agile methodology.
• Experience using ErDoS to manage top line charts, sprint burn-up charts, and sprint goals.
• Experience with Sponsor data repositories, Segmentation service, SecOps Pipeline, and Automated Sponsor JIRA Workflow.
• Recent experience with the Sponsor's suite of applications providing repository and search services.
• Recent experience with Sponsor’s profile and alerting services to sift through incoming stream and match user's profile.
• Recent experience with the Sponsor’s discovery and recommendation services to help users discover data and filter information.
• Experience with the Sponsor’s Pre-NLP processing pipeline to remove boilerplate text, portion marks, and non-narrative content.

NOTE: The team requires candidates with proficiencies in Java, Web Services, and Spring Boot. In addition, skills related to cloud technologies (e.g., AWS) and Docker are preferred. Rotating pager duty is also required.
