Medical Lab Scientist (Part Time)

Pride Health is currently looking candidates for Medical Lab Scientist I position in Melrose, MA. This is a 6-months contract position with possible extension.

Location: Melrose, MA 02176

Job Type: 6 months - W2 contract

Schedule: part time - night – 3 days a week, 11PM - 7AM.

Pay range - $25-$35 depending on experience. MLT – 25-$30, MLS – $28-$35

Responsibilities:

• Responsibilities are interchangeable within job titles of medical laboratory scientist (MLS), medical technologist or clinical laboratory scientist.
• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
• Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed.

Qualifications:

• Seeking an MLS/MT or MLT experienced in Blood Bank - will be supporting Blood Bank Department
• Generalist experience [ATLEAST 1 YEAR OF COAG, UA, HEM, ETC.] and Minimum 2-4 years of clinical laboratory testing experience is required.

Education:

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• BSMT or MLT associates.
• ASCP preferred.
