Summary
The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for supplying equipment to the Metals Working Industries mainly Steel, Aluminum and Copper. The Mechanical Design Engineer is responsible for the concept, the design, the manufacture and finally the installation of the equipment and works closely together with customers and vendors.

What you’ll do
- Concept to design to manufacture to installation.
- Developing of manufacturing drawings in accordance with applicable standards.
- Construct and oversee technicians in construction of developed systems.
- Interfacing with outside vendors for component selection, manufacturing and assembly.
- Duties include: basic engineering, component details for manufacture, assembly and/or arrangement drawings, proposal engineering, creation of concepts, designs, layouts and pricing as well as checking of basic and detail engineering for capacities and dimensional accuracy.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics and computer – generated reports.
- Confer with system engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions and provide technical information.
- Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost and maintenance requirement of designs or applications.
- Time will be spent in our facilities and our customer sites for installations, startups, rebuild and troubleshooting.
- Analysis of mechanical systems:
- o Force Systems and reactions
- o Stress analysis
- o System inertia
- o Power requirements (mechanical)
- o Bearing loading and life calculations
- o Time study (machine cycle time)
- Working closely together with customers and vendors.
What you’ll need
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering Technology or Mechanical Engineering.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and thorough interest in the workings of machines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work both independently and within a group.
- You are a “hands-on” person with an imaginative and resourceful approach to problem solving.
- Thorough understanding of MS Office software is desired.
- Proficiency in Pro/E or similar 3D CAD environment is desired. Additionally a working knowledge of AutoCAD or similar 2D CAD environment is of importance.
- Limited business travel to customers and vendor workshops will be required.
