Diesel Mechanic
Lone Star Corporation is searching for a full-time Diesel Mechanic that has a track record of successful management over a large company fleet subject to DOT regulations. The Diesel Mechanic will be responsible for maintenance on all fleet vehicles. Lone Star Corporation is searching for a full-time Diesel Mechanic that has a track record of successful management over a large company fleet subject to DOT regulations. The Diesel Mechanic will be responsible for maintenance on all fleet vehicles. Seeking a knowledgeable and organized leader with a strong passion for working closely with employees to improve the quality and safety of their work environment.
Daily Activities
- Maintains service operations by inspecting and maintaining trucks.
- Responsible for keeping equipment available for use by inspecting and performing diagnostic testing of trucks.
- Completing preventative maintenance, such as engine tune-ups, oil changes, brake changes, tire changes and replacing filters.
- Maintains vehicle functional condition by listening to driver complaints, conducting inspections, repairing engine failures, repairing mechanical and electrical system malfunctions, replacing parts and components, and repairing body damage.
- Installs, repairs, and maintains diesel truck engines. Examines trucks, repairs, overhauls, and adjust truck brake systems.
- Installs and repairs air conditioners and service components.
- Performs diagnostic engine repair. Diagnose and repair anti-lock braking systems.
- Conduct routine D.O.T. truck inspections and maintenance.
- Adjust and realign brakes.
- Test drive vehicles.
- Follows check list to ensure all important parts are examined.
- Provides road repair on vehicles as needed.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
- 2 + Years working on diesel trucks/ vehicles.
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the truck maintenance field
- Certified Heavy- Duty Diesel Mechanic
- Able to perform heavy duty physical activity, including bending, stooping, reaching, climbing, pulling, and lifting up to 75 lbs.
- Possesses a Medium/Heavy Truck Technician Certification (Diesel Engines) is preferred.
- SCE Certified.
- CDL is a plus.
- Knowledge of hydraulics on Bucket and Boom style trucks is a plus.
- Possesses an Engine Performance & Brakes Certification is preferred.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal and leadership abilities
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office, office management software and fleet management software.
- Proficiency in English however ability to speak fluent Spanish is a plus.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Must have a Valid Driver's license and a clean driving record.
