Facilities Manager

Title: Facilities Manager
Reports to: Principal
Job Goal: To perform general maintenance and cleaning of all buildings and grounds creating a safe and attractive learning environment.

Performance Responsibilities:
1. Complies with policies and procedures established for St. Peter Claver Catholic School in the Diocese of Savannah in accordance with the philosophy of Catholic Education
2. Has an overall knowledge of the school’s mission and can relate specific expertise to these goals
3. Reflects in personal and professional life a commitment to Gospel values and their Christian tradition
4. Accepts and supports Faith Community not simply as a concept to be taught, but as a reality to be lived in worship, service and interpersonal relationships
5. Is punctual in attendance and in the performance of regular duties
6. Dresses in a manner suitable for job related responsibilities
7. Walks the interior/exterior of all building daily for safety and maintenance
8. Respond to all emergency requests from the principal or office staff
9. Repair property and equipment in as far as possible without outside services
10. Checks all restrooms daily for cleanliness and to replenish supplies
11. Clean all classrooms and empty trash daily. Dry mop daily, wet mop Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Vacuum all classroom rugs three times a week.
12. Cleans the cafeteria daily addressing the following areas: tables, floors, and kitchen floor.
13. Cleans both classrooms in the MKD Center weekly by sweeping, mopping and vacuuming the rug in the music room. Clean stages and both stairwells weekly.
14. Setting up or breaking down furniture before and after special events.
15. Removes all trash from all buildings every day
16. Removes items left in cafeteria to lost and found or front office
17. Assists with all deliveries as they arrive
18. Interacts with parents, students, and teachers in a friendly and professional manner
19. Handles emergency situations as needed
20. Cleans locker rooms as necessary (minimum monthly)
21. Sets up for assemblies and programs as requested.
22. Works with outside service companies as needed (i.e., exterminator, air-conditioning, evening cleaning co.)
23. Maintain inventory of all cleaning and maintenance supplies and lets the principal know when supplies are low
24. Clean all storage areas monthly
25. Maintain outside grounds by cutting grass around the perimeter of the school and the playgrounds. Keep the grounds liter free.
26. Vacuum the library weekly
24. Perform all other duties directed by the principal

Work Hours: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm Lunch: 12:30 – 1:30 pm

Paid Holidays: July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving (Thursday, Friday), Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, President’s Day, Good Friday, Easter Monday, Memorial Day and your birthday.
