Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable Specialist

 Job Description:

As an Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable Specialist for a metals scrapping company, you will play a crucial role in managing their financial transactions and ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of their accounting processes. You will be responsible for handling both accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, as well as utilizing QuickBooks software to maintain their financial records.

Key Responsibilities:

- Process accounts payable invoices accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.

- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies or issues that may arise.

- Prepare and process payments to vendors, including checks, ACH transfers, and electronic payments.

- Monitor accounts receivable aging and follow up with customers to ensure timely payment of invoices.

- Post customer payments to appropriate accounts and reconcile discrepancies.

- Generate and send customer invoices and statements as needed.

- Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures, including account reconciliations and financial reporting.

- Maintain organized and accurate financial records using QuickBooks software.

- Collaborate with other departments to resolve financial-related inquiries and issues.

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.

- 2+ years of experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable roles.

- Proficiency in QuickBooks software is required.

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial record-keeping.

- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.

- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.

- Experience in the metals scrapping industry is a plus.
