We are currently seeking candidates to fill the position of Corporate Planner II in the Planning and Power Supply Department. This position will report to the Manager of Corporate Planning.
Position Summary: Participates in and gathers information for a variety of planning, power supply, and economic analyses, studies, and reports related to projecting future costs, revenues, rates, and power supply alternatives for Central and its Member Cooperatives in order to facilitate Central’s overall planning function.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Gathers information for and participates in various power supply studies for Central and its Member Cooperatives. This includes updating models and validating results.
- Prepares written analysis and presentation of results and findings to senior management and Member Cooperatives. Responsible for data gathering and model updates for Ten-Year Wholesale Power Cost Projections for Member Cooperatives.
- Develops a working knowledge of Central’s power supply contracts.
- Participates in long-term planning scenarios.
- Performs various demand side and generation power supply studies with the department’s planning tools.
- Participates in the preparation of Central to Member rates. Gathers data required for assessment of new and existing rates and riders. Works under direct guidance of Manager Corporate Planning.
- Supplies other departments with power cost data.
- Responsible for various regulatory and informational filings to government agencies.
- Performs long-term production cost analysis.
- Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Strong quantitative analysis skills.
Good formal presentation and technical writing abilities required.
Ability to work under pressure and immediate deadlines.
Reports, studies, economic analyses and forecasts all require accuracy and detail.
Strong internal drive for excellence and service orientation are preferred.
Education and Work Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, engineering, accounting
3 years prior experience or a graduate degree in an appropriate field
Experience with linear regression models required.

Central owns community solar and peaking generator assets but obtains most of its power through long-term purchase agreements with Santee Cooper, Duke Energy Carolinas, and the Southeastern Power Administration.
