McCormick Paints is seeking a Material Handler to assist the Distribution Center Manager with day-to-day operations of the Distribution Center in Frederick, MD. This role is responsible for execution of Fulfillment / Distribution of materials to all our stores and assisting in other routine areas as needed.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
The duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Pull stock to fill orders accurately
  • Load and unload inbound & outbound freight, with accurate documentation
  • Receive/process shipments
  • Move and stack materials
  • Rotate floor stock
  • Inventory fulfillment
  • Inventory cycle counting & auditing as needed
  • Use technology such as handheld inventory scanners to manage accurate inventory levels
  • Provide administrative support to Distribution Center Manager
  • Assist other warehouse or plant staff, when required
  • Assist in routine care, cleaning and upkeep of machinery within Distribution Warehouse
  • Report damaged merchandise or other problems immediately to appropriate supervisor
  • Lift and move heavy boxes/containers during picking/loading of orders
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school degree, or equivalent
  • At least 2 years of experience in material handling environment
  • Previous administrative responsibilities, preferred
  • Must be able to read and interpret store orders for materials pulled
  • Strong communication skills
  • The ability to work successfully in a fast-paced team environment are required
  • Possess basic mathematical skills
  • Attention to detail and the capacity to increase administrative support responsibilities as needed
  • Ability to stand for long period of time and work in a Distribution Center / warehouse environment
  • Must have previous experience operating forklifts / electric pallet jacks safely
  • Ability to lift and move heavy boxes and containers (up to approx. 65 lbs.)
