ELECTRICAL GENERAL FOREMAN

Position Title: Electrical General Foreman

Location: North Slope, Alaska

Company Overview: CONAM Construction is a full service general contractor headquartered in Anchorage, Alaska.  Supporting Oil & Gas and Mining industries with Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Maintenance Services. CONAM is currently hiring for the multi-year Pikka Facilities Installation project on the North Slope.

Overview: As an Electrical General Foreman in the oil and gas industry on a North Slope project in Alaska, you will lead and supervise electrical construction activities, ensuring adherence to NFPA 70 standards and regulations while maintaining a strong focus on safety. Your expertise in electrical systems, combined with leadership skills, will be essential in overseeing project execution and ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Provide leadership and direction to electrical crews, overseeing installation, maintenance, and repair activities for electrical systems and equipment.
2. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to plan and schedule electrical work, allocate resources, and ensure project objectives are met.
3. Supervise and mentor electrical personnel, ensuring work is performed efficiently, safely, and in compliance with NFPA 70 standards and project specifications.
4. Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits to identify hazards, enforce safety protocols, and promote a culture of safety among team members.
5. Monitor project progress, track productivity, and report on key performance indicators, addressing any issues or obstacles that may impact project timelines or budgets.
6. Ensure all electrical work is performed in accordance with NFPA 70E arc flash safety standards, implementing appropriate safety measures to mitigate risks and hazards.
7. Maintain accurate records of electrical work, including drawings, specifications, and equipment documentation, to facilitate project documentation and compliance requirements.
8. Steadfast commitment to NPFA 70 standards throughout all operations.

Required Qualifications:

1. High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
2. Journeyman electrician license or equivalent certification with a minimum of 7+ years of experience in electrical construction, maintenance, and project management.
3. Proficiency in computer software such as Microsoft Office programs, i.e., Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint.

4.       Proven experience in a leadership or supervisory role, demonstrating strong organizational, communication, and team-building skills.

1. Thorough understanding of NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code) standards and regulations, with a focus on electrical construction and safety practices.
2. Completion of NPF 70E arc flash safety training and certification, with proficiency in implementing arc flash hazard analysis and mitigation measures.
3. Familiarity with North Slope safety training requirements, including HAZWOPER, H2S Awareness, Cold Weather Safety, and other site-specific certifications.
4. Possession of a valid Alaska Fitness Card or willingness to obtain one prior to starting work on the North Slope.

Preferred Qualifications:

1.       Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, construction management, or related field.

1. Previous experience working on North Slope projects or in Arctic environments.
2. Additional certifications in project management, leadership, or safety management.
3. Strong problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills in high-pressure situations.

Work Environment:

• The position is based on the North Slope of Alaska, with exposure to extreme weather conditions, remote work sites, and potentially hazardous environments.
• May require working in confined spaces, at heights, and with heavy machinery.
• This position may require working on a rotational schedule (e.g., two weeks on, two weeks off / three weeks on, three weeks off / four weeks on, two weeks off, or similar) and/or extended shifts to accommodate project requirements and weather conditions on the North Slope. Typical work week consists of 11.5 hours per day x 7 days per week.
• Required to take and pass pre-employment drug test, background check, and Fit-For-Duty exam.
