Summary

Completes analysis using appropriate models including financial spreadsheets, pro-formas, and global cash flows to ensure credit decisions are properly analyzed, documented and the loan requests are in compliance with bank and regulatory policies. Prepares loan write ups and summaries along with recommendations to loan officers and loan committee. Reports to Chief Lending Officer.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepare cash flow spreadsheets for individuals and businesses according to their tax returns and financial statements to aid credit analysts in determining credit worthiness.
  • Produces quality, uniform and clear annual reviews for the Loan Committee and provides loan management with an emphasis on transparency and exemplifying the true position of the Bank with respect to the credit facility under discussion.
  • Maintain a good working knowledge of Heritage Bank’s lending policies, procedures and identify exceptions to loan policy.
  • Work with loan officers to anticipate, identify and collect documents needed for efficient and timely approvals on new and existing credits.
  • Risk Rate – Analyst will provide a risk rating on all new loan requests and loan renewals.
  • Utilize written and oral communication skills to obtain all needed information for any requests/annual reviews that are under discussion.
  • Ability to multi-task and work with multiple Commercial Lenders.
  • Fulfill other periodic job-related duties which are assigned by management and not already part of this job description.

Desired Education, Training, and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or related field; or a high school diploma with two-four years of progressively increasing responsible accounting/banking experience.

Technical Skills Needed

  • Knowledge and experience with operating a computer, calculator, and other general office equipment.
  • Excellent social and communication skills:
    • Use professional and clear verbal communication skills.
    • High quality writing skills, using accurate word usage, grammar, spelling, and punctuation in all written correspondence.
    • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, using whole numbers, and decimals.
    • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
    • Use professional phone etiquette, including tone and volume of voice.

Language Skills

  • Ability to read and interpret documents, instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
