Job Description

Seeking 3+ years' experience in a credit union or bank with focused experience in Training banking staff - Tellers, Relationship Bankers, Member Service Reps, Loan officers, Loan processors and Underwriters.

Target hiring pay range: $22.09 - $27.61 per hour ($45K - $57K)

Position Status – Full-time non-exempt (hourly)

Reports To: AVP, Talent Resources and Development (Human Resources)

Purpose: The primary purpose of this position is to assist Atlanta Postal Credit Union to live out our Mission, “To help our members achieve financial success by providing exceptional products and service.” The Training Specialist II is responsible for the development, procurement, facilitation, implementation, and tracking of one or more of the credit union’s training programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned

  2. Uses training data, project data, observations, focus groups, and other sources of information to conduct training needs analysis and identify training and performance gaps.
  3. In collaboration with the Training Manager and/or Learning Business Partner, works closely with internal stakeholders to ensure that identified training, whether developed in house or purchased from a training vendor, will achieve the desired outcomes, behaviors, efficiencies, or improvements.
  4. Reinforces the efforts on the part of the training department to encourage PMO and other stakeholders to include the procurement of training materials when negotiating with a vendor for a service, product, or software application.
  5. In accordance with established procedures, ensures that various and appropriate methods are deployed to measure the impact and overall success of a training course or training program.
  6. As required contributes to the development of in-house participant training materials, leaders’ guides, procedural manuals, videos, webinars, and podcasts for use the delivery of training to credit union employees.
  7. Consistently communicates a positive and clear message around of the credit union’s strategic goals, objectives, delivery of quality member services.
  8. Maintains and monitors annual online training plans for all employees to include determining appropriate job specific curriculums.
  9. Ensures accuracy of employee transcripts, training evaluations, and course availability in the Learning Management System (LMS).
  10. Participates in the delivery of new-hire training, new-hire orientation, product knowledge, and compliance training.
  11. As required, learns, and facilitates training in support of new initiatives, programs, or newly developed job specific curriculums.
  12. Complies with all aspects of BSA/AML and OFAC regulations as they relate to this position.
  13. When required generates or produces reports for examiners, internal audit, department VP.
  14. As requested, or as needed, participates in the planning, coordination, and set-up for employee engagement events, holiday events, corporate events, etc.
  15. Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities: No direct reports. May manage day-to-day task through indirect reporting relationships or through a matrixed management approach.

Qualification Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. REQUIRED EDUCATION and/or Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in business administration, communications, instructional design, learning systems or other directly related field of study
  • 3 years prior experience developing, planning, facilitating, and implementing adult learning programs
  • Prior experience and demonstrated understanding in administering, maintaining, and updating a Learning Management System (LMS)
  • 2 years’ experience in a training or management role within banking, insurance, or financial services sectors
  • Ability to travel locally between branches and overnight travel estimated 5% to 10%

PREFERRED EDUCATION and/or Experience:

  • 2 years direct experience developing and delivering training in a Credit Union environment
  • Previous experience reviewing and developing training plans, curricula, and training materials
  • One or more training professional certifications such as CTP,CTPD, CPTM, COLF, etc.
  • Prior experience and proficiencies in the use of graphics and training software such as Photoshop, Captivate, inDesign, etc.

Physical Job Requirements:

Must be physically able to operate a variety of automated office machines such as calculator, computer, printer, facsimile, telephone, copier, etc. Must be able to stand, bend and stoop as needed. Must be able to lift and/or carry weights of 20 to 50 pounds.
