Electronic Banking Specialist

Border Bank is seeking an Electronic Banking Specialist to join our team. This position has the flexibility to office at any of our current Border Bank locations in Fargo, North Dakota, or Badger, Baudette, Clearbrook, Coon Rapids, Greenbush, International Falls, Middle River, Roseau, or Thief River Falls, Minnesota.

The Electronic Banking Specialist supports the Bank's digital banking channels, with a primary focus on online, mobile banking, treasury management, and payments function. This position provides daily system support, troubleshooting, maintenance, documentation, and internal service support to ensure digital banking products operate accurately, securely, and consistently for customers, branches, and customer support.

Electronic Banking Specialist Key Responsibilities

  • Provides daily support for the Bank's digital banking channels, including online banking, mobile banking, mobile app functionality, bill pay, external transfers, digital wallets, digital documents/statements, and related customer-facing digital services.
  • Setup, maintain, troubleshoot, and perform quality review for digital banking systems, user setup and access, digital authentication, and customer access issues.
  • Supports mobile check deposit system configuration, customer setup, system maintenance, and issue resolution in coordination with the Digital Banking Manager and Operations.
  • Support debit card program functions, including digital wallet, card plastic inventory and ordering, instant issue support.
  • May assist the Digital Banking Manager in maintaining and reviewing digital product information, including website change requests, Border Connect digital page updates, product brochures, customer-facing materials, and internal resource updates.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert to branches, Customer Support, Treasury Management (TM), Operations, Fraud/Risk, Compliance, and IT/IS for digital banking questions, troubleshooting, and customer support needs.
  • Research digital banking issues or problems, documents findings, communicate resolution steps, and escalate matters to the Digital Banking Manager.
  • Assists with digital channel monitoring and review activities assigned to Digital Banking, including exception reporting, quality assurance, access review, and operational follow-up. Digital fraud monitoring responsibilities are performed in coordination with Fraud/Risk when applicable.
  • Assist with documentation requested by auditors, examiners, vendors, management, or internal control partners, and helps maintain organized records for assigned digital banking systems and processes.
  • May work with the Digital Banking Manager to develop and maintain procedures, training materials, job aids, and internal communications related to digital banking products, systems, and support expectations.
  • Review existing processes and recommend improvements that streamline workflow, reduce manual effort, strengthen controls, improve customer experience, and enhance accuracy and quality of work.
  • Supports new product, system, or process initiatives by assisting with testing, documentation, training, implementation tasks, and post-launch issue resolution.
  • Supports Treasury Management for commercial onboarding, ACH origination, wire templates, positive pay, commercial RDC, and business-client support matters that are owned or led by Treasury Management.
  • Research TM platform issues or problems, documents findings, communicate resolution steps, and escalate matters to the Treasury Management Director.
  • Assist with documentation requested by auditors, examiners, vendors, management, or internal control partners, and help maintain organized records for assigned TM systems and processes.
  • Supports TM escalation calls from business clients.

Electronic Banking Specialist Education and Experience

  • Associate's degree in a related field or equivalent specialized training.
  • Prefer 1-3 years of experience in bank operations, digital banking, debit card services, customer support, treasury support, or related financial services operations.
